Yann Sommer is a professional footballer from Morges, Switzerland. He was born on the 17th day of December 1988 to his father Daniel Sommer and his mother Monika Sommer.

2. Sommer became First-choice Keeper for Basel Under-21 almost Immediately
In 2005, Yann Sommer joined and signed his first professional contract with Basel. Getting to play more regularly for the team was not a big problem for Yann Sommer.
He was selected as the first-choice goalkeeper for Basel under-21 squad almost immediately after joining the team. He fended off competition from other players like Jayson Leutwiler and Orkan Avci. Sommer also became the third-choice goalkeeper for the senior side after Franco Costanzo and Louis Crayton.
3. He Waited for Seven Years to Become Basel’s First-choice Goalkeeper
In 2005, Yann Sommer signed his professional debut in his career for FC Basel. He was, later on, sent on several loan deals to get more first-team experience.
