The historical museum of the Kulturama was founded in 1978 by Paul Muggler as the first museum in the world about the evolution of animals and humans.

The establishment of the museum was based solely on the publication “Panoramas of Cultural Historical Evolution”. The museum was also based upon some of the exhibitions that he has presented in entire Switzerland.

Paul Muggler established the non-profit foundation as the sponsor and the museum was under the supervision of Canton of Zurich.

Even after the establishment of the museum, he donated some of his exhibitions to the foundation.
