1. Zlatan began his professional career in a friendly match against the Faroe Islands at Tipshallen

Zlatan was requested to play for Sweden, Bosnia, and Herzegovina, or Croatia. He ended up choosing Sweden.

This was the first opportunity he had to play professionally. The match was a friendly match against the Faroe Islands at Tipshallen.

This was during the Nordic Football Championship back in 2001. His first competitive match was during the 202 World Cup qualifiers.

Zlatan’s interest in playing professionally began way back in his childhood. Zlatan says in an interview that he had to steal food, clothes, and even a bicycle to catch up with his football training.

Zlatan practiced and played on a gravel pitch located just opposite his mother`s house.

After he became a successful player, he and Nike jointly overhauled the pitch with rubber ground and had the goalposts painted in gold.

The court was then officially named the Zlatan Court and is used in nurturing young talent in the neighborhood.

This was made to provide better facilities for the coming generations. The court allows footballers to learn much-needed skills with better facilities than what was available to Zlatan at the time he was growing up.

3. Zlatan`s parents were emigrants from Sweden

He was born to a Muslim, Bosniak dad, Sefik Ibrahimović and Jurka Gravic. Both parents immigrated to Sweden where they met and became a couple.

Unfortunately, the couple divorced when Zlatan was only two years old. Zlatan`s mom was thereafter forced to meet the needs of Zlatan and his four siblings.

4. He came from a humble background

Zlatan Ibrahimović was born to emigrant parents. After the unfortunate divorce between the parents, the mother had to try all means to cater to Zlatan and his siblings.

His father was an alcoholic and therefore offered no support to Zlatan`s mother in raising him and his siblings.

A restaurant in 鶹APP has named a burger named after Zlatan Ibrahimović. Zlatan is popular in 鶹APP due to his stint with 鶹APP Saint-German.

The burger has 600 grams of meat and three kinds of cheeses. The owner of the restaurant describes the burger as being exceptional as Zlatan Ibrahimović himself. The burger has gained popularity among its customers.

The owner of the restaurant, Jean-Philippe Grandin named the burger in honor of the football player.

6. Zlatan demonstrated his generosity by gifting all his teammates with an Xbox One

Zlatan has demonstrated his generosity towards his teammates in different ways. The act that was shocking was when he gifted all his teammates an Xbox One.

This act was after destroying the French Ligue 1 with PSG IN 2013.

He demonstrated his generosity by doing so. His actions were not entirely selfless since his signature and name were on the Xbox.

7. There is a word in the Swedish Dictionary that was named after him

The Swedish nation regards Zlatan as a national hero. He gained publicity over time from the moment he began his football career.

The verb was introduced by the Swedish Language Council in the list of new words introduced in 2012.

The verb was originally coined by the satirical TV show in France where Zlatan played for 鶹APP Saint Germain.

8. Zlatan`s wife is 11 years older than him

Zlatan married his wife, Helena Seger back in 2002 and they have two sons. The wife is however 11 years older than him.

Helena is a model, actor, and businesswoman. Zlatan met his lifelong wife during a furious row over his Ferrari.

Helena was at that moment demanding that Zlatan move his poorly parked Ferrari. Their relationship wasn’t built on the most solid of foundations as they had a furious dispute when they first met.

Despite the rocky start, the couple has been together for over two decades.

9. Zlatan has a black belt in Taekwondo

At just the age of 17, Zlatan received a black belt in Taekwondo in his hometown, Malmo.

He is regarded as a player that one wouldn’t wish to be on his wrong side. Zlatan has most definitely found himself in a few arguments with either his opponents or his teammates.

His skills in Taekwondo have however helped him in such arguments. His acrobatics and overhead kicks have stunned the world on many occasions.

Zlatan took the opportunity to market his name and therefore decided to trademark his own name.

He used it in advertising-related sporting goods. Following the trademark, he has exclusive rights to produce clothes, shoes, and sporting goods, sold in his name.

Zlatan is still an icon and has kept his interest in football going. His interest in football began way back in his childhood and he has held onto it to date.
