Silva played at Valencia CF for seven years of his professional career, making more than 160 appearances and taking home a Copa del Rey in 2008. Valencia was founded in 1919 and has played its home games at the 55,000-seater Mestalla since 1923.
2. He was Manchester city player of the year
It was the start of a new era for Manchester City when Pep Guardiola was introduced as the club’s new manager amid considerable excitement. The legendary manager admitted that one of the reasons he joined the Blues and signed a three-year contract was to work with Silva. In Guardiola’s first season at the club, Silva scored one goal in a 5-0 victory over Steaua București in the 2016–17 UEFA Champions League play-off round.
