Enrique Iglesias is a Spanish singer, songwriter, actor, and record producer. He is widely regarded as the King of Latin Pop. He was born on May 8, 1975, in Madrid, Spain.

 Enrique started his recording career in the mid-1990s and since then became the best-selling Spanish artist of the decade.

He has long since crossed over into English music and as of October 2020, Iglesias holds the number-one position on the Greatest of All-Latin Artists charts.

International pop star Enrique Iglesias has over 200 awards under his belt, and now he has been honored with two Guinness World Records.

The first record recognizes he has the number one singles on the “Hot Latin Songs” Billboard Chart. From 1995 to 2015, he sang 26 hits.

The second record is for the longest stay as No. 1 on the Hot Latin Songs chart. His international hit “Bailando” first topped the charts on May 17, 2014, and it stayed there until February 25, 2015 — that’s 41 weeks.

2. Whitney and Enrique recorded a song together without ever meeting

The celebrated duet 鈥淐ould I Have This Kiss Forever,鈥� between soul super-diva Whitney Houston and Enrique Iglesias, reeks of sexual tension and claustrophobic desire.

The recording process, however, couldn鈥檛 have been more clinical, with both stars singing their parts in different continents for the original version of the cut, which appeared on Enrique鈥檚 English-language debut album, Enrique.

The pair did eventually meet when it was decided a more midtempo pace would suit the Diane Warren composition for a single release in 2000, and a subsequent steamy video suggested that, despite the initial physical distance between them, the chemistry had been there right from the start.

Right at the start of his career, Enrique squared up to US radio legend Howard Stern. This is after the DJ shared footage of the Latin star miming on a broadcast where his vocals were off-key.

He turned up at Stern鈥檚 studio and performed 鈥淩hythm Divine鈥� and 鈥淏e With You鈥� with just a guitar, forcing the shock-jock to admit the star really could sing.

The confrontation earned Enrique acres of good press and established his credentials as one of the most exciting new pop acts of his generation. US fans rewarded Enrique with a No.1 song in 鈥淏e With You鈥� soon after.

Kournikova started dating singer Enrique Iglesias in late 2001 after she had appeared in his music video for “Escape”.

She has consistently refused to directly confirm or deny the status of her personal relationships. The couple has a son and daughter, Nicholas and Lucy, who are fraternal twins born on 16 December 2017.

On 30 January 2020, their third child, a daughter, Mary, was born. It鈥檚 still a mystery whether they are married or not.

9. He attended the University of Miami

Iglesias attended Gulliver Preparatory School, a private high school in Miami, where he participated in his first live performance in a school production of Hello Dolly.

He then attended the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida where he studied business but dropped out after a year.

After dropping out of the University of Miami, Iglesias traveled to Toronto to record his first album.

10. Iglesias did not want his father to know about his plans for a music career

In Toronto, he borrowed money from his family nanny and recorded a demo cassette tape which consisted of a Spanish song and two English songs.

Approaching his father’s former publicist, Fern谩n Mart铆nez, the two promoted the songs under the stage name Enrique Mart铆nez with the backstory of being a singer from Guatemala. Iglesias was signed on to Fonovisa Records.
