In 2002, CBS offered Lara a full-pledged correspondent position. Some of the war zones that she reported from are Iraq and Afghanistan. She worked as an embedded journalist in Iraq and Afghanistan for the United States Armed Forces.

2. She filed a report on Haifa Street fighting

It was in June 2010 when Lara was criticized for making remarks to the American journalist. Also, her view that reporters who are embedded with the military ought not to write about the general banter they hear made matters worse for her.

Logan told CNN that Hastings’ report in the article Roling Stone had violated an unspoken agreement between reporters who travel with the military. The agreement was that they should not report casual comments that pass between them.

4. She was sexually assaulted in Egypt

On February 3, 2011, Lara and her CBC crew were arrested and detained that night by the Egyptian Army. She said that her crew was handcuffed and blindfolded at gunpoint. It was on February 15, 2011, when CBC News released a statement that Logan had been beaten and sexually assaulted.
