Vernon Philander, whose full name is Vernon Darryl Philander, was born on 24th June 1985 in Bellville, Cape Province, South Africa. He pursued his primary school education in Webner Street which was in his hometown of Ravensmead, South Africa.
He is a former South Africa international cricketer who was a right-handed bowling all-rounder. He had the opportunity to represent his country in the under-19 category.
During his cricket career, he played for the Cape Cobras in South Africa domestic cricket. His experience and performance also secured him a place in the South Africa national cricket team.
Although he represented his country in several tournaments, domestically he was a member of the Cape Cobras after joining them in 2004.
