Aloysius Pang was a Singaporean actor born on 24^th August 1990 and who passed away on 24^th January, 2019 aged 28, due to crush injuries sustained from a military accident while on National Service reservist Operationally Ready training in New Zealand.

1.Aloysius Started Acting When He Was Only 9 Years of Age

Aloysius made his acting debut at only 9 years of age in children鈥檚 drama Xiao Fei Ren. I Love My Home, A Child鈥檚 Hope and Bukit Ho Swee are other children鈥檚 drama series that he starred in during his formative years.

He filmed his first drama act with Shawn Lee who was his doppelganger in the drama series in those early years of his childhood acting.

2.Teasing Made Aloysius Stop Acting at The Age of 14 Temporarily

At the age of 14 while studying in Yuying Secondary School, Aloysius gave up acting due to teasing. He even went as far as calling MediaCorp and requesting them to never call him again and take his file out.

In 2012 Aloysius made his comeback in the film Timeless Love which was directed by Lim Koong Hwee and Dasmond Koh after graduating from Singapore Institute of Management

3.Aloysius Wanted People to Like Him for Who He Was Rather Than for His Personality on TV

As a child actor some people snubbed Aloysius and told him openly that people liked him not because he was good looking and/or a nice person but because he starred on TV.  This distressed him greatly as he wanted people not to like him for being on TV but as an individual.

Aloysius wanted his personality to outshine his character on TV and as a result he was constantly seeking attention through rebellious behavior. He always looked for trouble to make people notice him.  One of the rebellious ways was that he often opened the door and screamed for people to notice him during Karaoke Sessions.

Since his return to acting in 12, Aloysius acted in a total of 32 shows.  He was really committed to acting as he did at least two shows per year since 2012 to his death in 2019.

The highest number of shows he did was in 2015 when he starred as Royston Chio in the film Young & Fabulous as well as appearing in five other shows namely, Life -Fear Not, My First School, The Gentlemen, The Truth Seekers and You Can Be An Angel 2 in the same year

5.Aloysius Won Notable Awards and Was Nominated 11 Times for Star Awards

There was no doubt that Aloysius was well loved by his fans and within the local Chinese entertainment industry. Since his early years in acting, he was nominated regularly for various popularity and performance-based awards.

He won the Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes award at the 22^nd Star Awards Ceremony which proved that he was a rising star in the industry.  Aloysius also won the Best Newcomer award in the ceremony preceding the 2022 awards ceremony.  In total he was nominated 22 times for star awards. 

6.Aloysius Had Many Acting Roles Lined Up Before His Death

Due to his talent and proven work ethic, at the time of his death Aloysius had many projects lined up.  In 2019 alone, he had two upcoming projects. One of the shows which was set to premiere in 2019 was the original toggle series From Beijing to Moscow.

Before his death Aloysius was to start shooting in a romantic drama series after the Chinese New Year. His role in the Channel 8 romantic drama My One In A Million had to be recast after he passed away.

7.Aloysius Was Ambitious and Hard Working

Aloysius spent some time and energy running a business venture he started in partnership with his elder brother, Jefferson, despite his commitment to acting. 

He set up a business venture known as 鈥�Kairos Green鈥� in 2017 after parting ways with MediaCorp to offer eco-friendly, low-maintenance solutions to Outdoor Decking.

Kairos Green made outdoor flooring by making use of Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) which was made from recycled materials like wood floor and thermoplastics among others.

8.Aloysius Was Loved by Fellow Actors and Celebrities in The Entertainment Industry

Aloysius was seen to be very close to many local celebrities despite his claim that he was quiet and a bit of a loner. After the accident that eventually claimed his life, many celebrities and co-actors sent him messages wishing him quick recovery through Instagram.

Kimberly Chia who was his co-star in the film It Takes Two and Love At Cavenagh Bridge shared how everyone was waiting for Aloysius to get back home safely after the accident in Instagram.

9.Aloysius Was a Family Man at Heart

Aloysius set up a business with his elder brother, Jefferson, just to prove how much he trusted his family. To demonstrate how grateful, he was for the care that his parents gave him in his early years, Aloysius mentioned in an interview that his goal in life was to protect his mother.

Aloysius said that he often times lay down in between his parents after work just to talk and listen to them. He held that his parents were his emotional support pillars in his acting career.

Aloysius planned to settle down in marriage after the prime age of 33 and hoped to marry someone with a stronger character as he held that his character was too soft. He believed that a partner with a strong character was good for disciplining his children.

10.Many Believe That Aloysius Was a True Son of Singapore

Aloysius made an indelible mark in the local Chinese entertainment industry and he will be remembered for many years to come. He made a role model to many people in Singapore due to his strong work ethic and his ability to take up every opportunity that was presented to him.

Before his demise, Aloysius announced his intentioned to serve Singapore dutifully in coming years. Many in Singapore today remember Aloysius Pang as a true son of Singapore.
