Universal Studios Singapore is a theme park. It is located within the Resorts World Sentosa at Sentosa, Singapore.

The universal studios are owned by Genting Singapore. It was the key component of the Genting bid for the right to build Singapore’s second integrated resort.

On 8 December 2006, the consortium won the bid. It was announced by Singapore’s government.

The official plans of the park were announced for the first time to the puSoutheast0 October 2009. Universal Studios released a map of the entire park.

It is the second Universal Studios theme park in Asia. Moreover, it is the first in Southeast Asia. The park attracted more than 2 million visitors in the 9 months after its opening.

It features 28 rides, shows, and attractions. Universal studios have seven themed zones.

The universal studios Singapore took almost two years the construction. The construction began on 19 April 2008. The park was opened on 18 March 2010.

The park was opened for a sneak peek week given the Chinese New year celebrations. Visitors had to pay SGD$10 to enter the park. The tickets for the week were paid for within two days.

A soft opening of the park was on 18 March 2010 and until 26 October 2010. The team members’ attractions staff and their families had a chance to visit the park before the public.

The official grand opening was held on 28 May 2011. It had various celebrities such as Jet Li, Maggie Cheung, Zhao Wei and former American Idol Judge Paula Abdi. It was also attended by another 1,600 guests.

The universal studios Singapore occupies 25 hectares (62 acres). It occupies the easternmost part of the 49 hectares of Resorts World Sentosa.

The 25 hectares park has a total of 24 attractions. Eighteen are adapted for the park. It consists of seven-themed zones surrounding a lagoon.

Each movie is based on movies and television. They feature their attractions. The park has meet-and-greet locations.

Additionally, it has more than 30 restaurants and food carts. 20 retail stores and carts are located around the park.

3. Millions of Visitors have Croused the Gates of Universal Studios Singapore

Universal Studios Singapore attracted more than 2 million visitors in the 9 months from its opening. By the end of one year, the park had attracted over 3 million visitors.

Since then, it has approximately had more than 4 million visitors every year. Most of the visitors are local Singaporeans. Moreover, a tourist from other Asian countries in the region does visit this beautiful site.

The park was ranked as one of the top visited theme parks worldwide. This was according to the AECOM Theme Index Global Attraction Attendance Report.

4. Meet And Greet Your Favorite Stars at Hollywood Dreams Zone

Visitors get a chance to meet and greet their favourite Star at the Hollywood Dreams theatre. Children also enjoy getting photos clicked with the impersonation of legendary stars like Marilyn Monroe.

The little ones also get a chance to bump into Autobots from Transformer. They get a chance to be part of Shenany with Minions.

Additionally, visitors also meet and greet other stars such as Lynn and Lucy loud from The loud house. Ronnie Anne and Bobby Santiago with Sid Chang from The Casagrades and others.

5. Hop On The Tummy-Twirling Battlestar Galactica Ride at Universal Studios Singapore

At Universal Studio Singapore, there are rides that visitors enjoy. The rides are featured in the Sci-fi city theme.

The theme is a home of a pair duelling roller coasters. The Battlestar Galactica is a pair of two roller coasters one of which is invented.

The Battlestar Galactica Human is a sit-down roller coaster. It was designed for a tamer experience. The trains are modelled after the colonial mark II viper. They were used by the human faction as seen in the Battlestar Galactica series.

The second roller coaster is Battlestar Galactica Cylon. This is an inverted roller coaster. It was designed for a more thrilling experience with inversions.

The trains are modelled after the Cylon heavy raider. That was used by the Cylon faction as seen in the Battlestar Galactica series.

6. Head On A Treasure Hunt and Pharaohs’ Tomb at the University Studio Singapore

The universal studios Singapore has the ancient Egypt theme. This is based on the historical adaptation of Ancient Egypt.

In ancient Egypt, visitors get a chance to explore obelisks and pyramids. They are typical of Ancient Egypt.

It also features the Pharaoh’s tombs which were discovered during that era. This zone also relies on the depictions made in the popular film franchise, the mummy.

Revenge of the mummy ride is a combination of a dark ride and a roller coaster. Built within an indoor space It was inspired and developed by the mummy film from 1999.

Moreover, visitors also by treasure hunting in this zone. This is a mini-car- ride. It drives around the abandoned Egyptian excavation site. The ride vehicles are modelled after the look of vintage jeeps.

7. The water world zone at the University Studio Singapore features a live Show Performance

A live performance is held at the Waterworld. The show is held at one of the zone, the Lost world.

The live-action performance involves Stunts and protectnicsics. Surrounding by and using a large pool of water. This is one of the popular universal studios Singapore attractions.

8. Roar and Explore with The Dinosaur in The Jurassic World at Universal Studios Singapore

Universal Studios Singapore has a Jurassic world park theme. It is under The Lost world zone. Jurassic Park is based on the popular film franchise by Steven Spielberg and the novels of Michael Crichton. It features redesigned Jurassic park rapids adventure.

The Jurassic park rapids adventure features the white water raft system. This is whereby riders on circular rafts are sent down a rapid with animatronic Dinosaurs.

9. Explore a 4-D stereoscopic Show with Physical Effects at Universal Studios Singapore

This is a Shrek 4-D adventure that is featured in the Far far away zone. The zone is inspired by DreamWorks animation’s Shrek franchise.

Additionally, the zone consists of many locations from the film series. It has a landmark in the form of a far far away castle.

10. Extensive Range of Novelties in Universal Studio Singapore Shopping Arena

The park has so much to shop for. The Minion Mart in the Hollywood zone is a retail store selling Despicable Me-themed merchandise.

That’s a Wrap that sells universal studios-themed merchandise. The universal studio’s store sells studios-themed collectables, toys and apparel.

New York City park has The Big Bird’s Emporium store. That sells street-themed merchandise.
