The show by the Orang-utan made the program an attractive event that lasted until 2008 when she passed on. The Singapore Zoo took over eight years to replace Ah Meng.

The granddaughter, Ishta, took over the show later on. To acknowledge Ah Meng, the biggest open restaurant where visitors enjoy breakfast with the animals was named after it.
