Ho Ching is a famous Singaporean businesswoman who has served in different ranks of businesses and enterprises.
She was born on 27th March 1953 in Singapore. After her graduation from the National University of Singapore and Standford University, she joined Temasek Holdings as a Director in January 2002. This was her first move in business.

1. Ho Ching holds two academic honors
Ho Ching was a brilliant student in academics. During her secondary education at Crescent Girls School, she was one of the top students for A-level examinations in her cohort at National Junior College, where she was named Student f the year.
She proceeded to Singapore University which is the current National University of Singapore and graduated in 1976 with a Bachelor of Engineering ( Electrical, First Class Honors).
She later graduated with a master of science (Electrical Engineering) degree from Stanford University.

In the year 2007, she was picked as one of the 100 most influential people in the world ( men and women) who shaped the world by Time Magazine.
Not so long when Ho Ching was ranked by Forbes Magazine as the third most powerful woman on the Forbes magazine annual list.
3. She supports various community service and charitable organizations
Ho Ching despite having a very classy life is a philanthropist in her capacity. She supports community services and charitable organizations where she mostly influences raising special needs education, health care, welfare, and development of children.
She has established organizations such as Trailblazer Foundation Limited, a charity organization that helps in funding for education, health, sports, and community welfare.
She is an advisor to the Autism Resource Centre, a non-profit charity in charge of Pathlight school.
4. She began her career as an Engineer as Chief Executive Officer
Ho Ching began her career in the Ministry of Defence of Singapore in 1976 as an Engineer 1976.
She advanced to be a Director of Defence Materials organization, the procurement agency of the ministry and held the position of Deputy Director of Defence Science Organization.
She worked as Singapore Technologies Deputy Director of Engineering and later advanced to president and Chief Executive Officer in 1997.

In her continuous effort to see herself succeed, Ho Ching was credited for her good work in repositioning and growing groups that she led.
She was an architect for the formation of Singapore Technologies as chairman. Her success led to her advancement as Temasek Holdings assuming the role of a Director, in the year 2002and she became its executive officer of Temasek in 2004.
6. She has served as chairman of the Institute of standards and industrial Research
Ho Ching, her reputation was built through her successful career journey. Her influence led to her being appointed to serve as chairman of the Singapore Institute of Standards and Industrial Research.
In her position, she held the position of Deputy Chairman of the productivity and Standards Board and the Economic Development Board.
She stepped down as the CEO and Director on 1st October 2021 and was succeeded by Dilhan Pillay who holds his current appointment as Chief Executive of Temasek International.
7. She is married to the third Prime Minister

Marriage is one of the rites of passage that all people undergo to maintain the family lineage. Ching Ho, as she was starting her career at the Ministry of Defence, she met her husband Lee Hsien Loong.
The husband is the third Prime Minister of Singapore and he is the eldest son of former Singapore Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.
They married on December 17, 1985, and have one daughter Xiuqi and three sons: Yipeng, Hongyi, and Haoyi. Xiuqi and Yipeng are her stepchildren from Lee’s first marriage.
8. Ho Ching takes up Advisory role at International Investment firm EQT
Discipline, passion, and hard work open doors for great opportunities in all our endeavors. From Ho Ching’s effort, it is expected she will join a global investment organization as an advisor.
The Sweden-based firm announced the appointment on January 27, 2022, adding that Ho Ching will be part of the mission board of EQT Future, the firm’s impact-driven fund.
The board’s purpose for written EQT is to provide external objectivity to the fund’s strategic direction and set the bar high for its commitment to driving positive impact.
