Beco do Batman is in the area around Rua Goncalo Afonso and Rua Medeiros de Albuquerque in the Vila Madalena neighborhood of Sao Paulo.

Moreover, Beco do Batman is a popular tourist destination because of the dense concentration of graffiti that line the streets.

Furthermore, the nickname for the area is attributed to graffiti of the Dc Comics Character Batman which was painted on one of the walls in the 1980s.

Simply because the alley can get pretty crowded on weekends so if your aim is to check out the art and take pictures then you will want to go when no one else is there and that can only happen on weekdays during morning hours.

3. Beco do Batman Alley has an Endless supply of Restaurants and Bars

Beco do Batman and the surrounding areas have a nearly endless supply of bars and restaurants to choose from.

However, the most recommended one it鈥檚 a restaurant called Caf茅 Madeira which is located right at the intersection of the alley and Rua Harmonia.

The restaurant has a large buffet-style area with dozens of dishes where you can pile on as much or as little as you want to eat.

Interestingly after serving your food on the plate you weigh your plate at the cashier and pay per kilogram of food.

4. One block south of Beco do Batman there is the Cemeiterio Sao Paulo with tons of graves that date back to the 1800s

The massive cemetery has tons of graves that date back to the 1800s and many of them are incredibly ornate.

Moreover, it is interesting to see a lot of Japanese surnames on the engravings which come as a testament to how long the immigrants from Japan have lived in the city.

Furthermore, the cemetery is open to the public but it is devoid of Instagrammers and the like so if you decide to visit keep a low profile but keep in mind the other visitors may be there to pay their respects to deceased loved ones.

5. You can visit the Museum of the Person

This is the idea behind the Museum of the Person a virtual museum with the mission to promote the democratization of social memory society.

However, the Museum was founded in Sao Paulo in the year 1991 and it developed an alternative method for collecting and systematizing life stories.

Furthermore, the museum has developed around 220 projects regarding institutional memory, education, culture, and community development the institution currently has a collection of approximately 16,000 recorded life stories and approximately 72,000 digitalized photos and documents.

6. You can visit the Ibirapuera Park

The Ibirapuera park is an urban park in Sao Paulo however it comprises of 158 hectares between Avenue Pedro Alvares Cabral, Avenue Republica do Libano, and Avenue IV Centenario.

For the cake, jams, cookies, and loaves of bread prepared and blessed by the monks you will find the bakery to the left of the main hall it鈥檚 a little more expensive than regular bakeries but the quality is excellent.

Furthermore, today the monastery is surrounded by skyscrapers but it was built from 1910 to 1922 and it stands in the place of the original 17th-century chapel.

Home to 40 cloistered monks the monastery was chosen by Pope Benedict XVI for his stay during his first official visit to Brazil in 2007.

In addition, inside the monastery, you will see the famous murals painted by the Benedictine German Monk Dom Dutch Gresnicht Adelbert who came to Brazil in the year 1913 especially to paint these Biblical scenes.

10. You can visit Sao Paulo Football Museum

The Sao Paulo football Museum is a 6,900-square-meter museum dedicated to the history and importance of soccer in Brazilian culture.

Moreover, the museum is located underneath the bleachers and was constructed over 13 months and inaugurated in 2009.

The museum valued at 12 million dollars it has 16 rooms of permanent exhibits as well as several temporary exhibitions.

However, the permanent exhibitions give visitors an opportunity to see the history and importance of soccer in Brazilian culture, download their own 鈥�goal moments鈥� and view the soccer pitch.
