6. Rancho Cordova

8. Pocket

It is nearly impossible not to mention Pocket while listing some of the most fascinating neighbourhoods in Sacramento. Just as the name suggests, it is tucked like a pocket into a curve of the Sacramento River which runs along its western border. It is situated 5 miles south of the busy downtown.
It is suburban with a mid-century feel and is home to some of the oldest properties. These have been largely renovated and new ones put in place. Pocket has been described as the Mecca for retirees, with a considerable majority of its residents being retired.

Tahoe Park is an up-and-coming neighbourhood area that is constantly growing, located close to downtown Sacramento. It is relatively suburban, and its quiet, laid-back environment makes it suitable and attractive as a family residential area.

It has an above-average rated school system, and some of the known nearby schools include the Leonardo Da Vinci Middle School and West Campus High School.
