What is the Rinascente Roma Tritone

At it鈥檚 essence, the Rinascente Roma Tritone is an up market department store spanning all eight floors of its host building in the center of Rome.

This store is owned by the Rinascente chain, and marks the first physical location of this stature under the conglomeration.

Originally scheduled to open in 2012, construction was delayed several times and the Rinascente Roma Tritone was only able to properly open its doors to the world very recently in 2017.

As you explore the eight floors you鈥檒l find a lot more than just things to buy.

The first floor of the building is an archaeological site that was consciously preserved throughout the renovations that brought this department store into existence. The site showcases the original aqua duct of Aqua Virgo, dating back to 19 BC.

There is also a small building on site that dates back to early 1900s. Its called the 鈥楶alazzetto鈥� and it鈥檚 located in a hidden area, reachable using the mapped guides on the information boards.

The top floor of the Rinascente Roma Tritone is dedicated to the food hall, giving customers 360 degree views over Rome and the surrounding landscapes.

And the floors in between? This is where you鈥檒l shop. The Rinascente Roma Tritone is clearly divided in terms of retail brackets. You鈥檒l find different floors dedicated to menswear, womenswear, kids wear, evening wear, jewelry, shoes, accessories, home design, cosmetics and even food.

Each floor has ample staff available to assist with whatever it is you need to find. And if they can鈥檛 find it, they鈥檒l hunt down someone who can. The customer service remains something to write home about at the Rinascente Roma Tritone.

So invested in the success of this operation, the Rinascente Roma Tritone recently offered three million euros toward the development of the two ancient streets that boarder the building.

The Via del Tritone and Via dei Due Macelli will be renovated from their pavements through to their side streets as part of an effort to keep this area in top shape.

Where is the Rinascente Roma Tritone

The Rinascente Roma Tritone lies in the heart of Trevi, on the Right Bank of the ancient city.

It鈥檚 a short walk from attractions like the Trevi Fountain as well as the Colosseum. An ideally situated spot for anyone who finds themselves with an hour or two to spare on shopping.

Of course, you won鈥檛 want to limit yourself to just two hours in an eight story retail spectacle. If this is an activity you usually enjoy, then I recommending dedicating the better part of either your morning or your afternoon to covering the Rinascente in its entirety.

In terms of just clothing, the Rinascente Roma Tritone features over 200 international brands from around the world. This number excludes local ones!

Luxury fashion houses like Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Dior and Burberry all exhibit proudly across the Rinascente floors. This is just to name a few; you鈥檒l find just about every high-end name brand available somewhere in the building.

Depending on the department in question, some brands will have multiple sections for their different products. Fendi, for example, has a sector on the women鈥檚 clothing floor, as well as on the footwear floor.

Food Hall at the Rinascente Roma Tritone

Something to note about the food hall; this is not your usual mall-style food court where fast-food and ready-made meals are the order of the day.

Naturally, the Rinascente takes things to the next level, offering guests a fine dining lunch and dinner experience between their shopping. The restaurant is called the MadeITerraneo, and it is the brainchild of Michelin chef Riccardo Di Giacinto.

Featuring cuisines from around the Mediterranean, you鈥檒l eat light meals for lunch and an al la carte menu for dinner. Everything is locally sourced and entirely organic.

Best Time to Visit the Rinascente Roma Tritone

The Rinascente Roma Tritone is open year round, and any opportunity to visit should be considered the 鈥渂est time鈥�.

However since the festive season is fast approaching, I will say there is something particularly magic about the Rinascente Roma Tritone around Christmas time. The spirit of spending and gifting is elevated toward the end of the year, and the brands inside of the Rinascente get on board, offering great specials and even gift wrapping.

In a more general sense, the Rinascente Roma Tritone remains the most popular shopping space in all of Rome, so one does need to consider when they visit depending on what level of crowding they can endure.

Early morning would be the best time to go if you prefer more space to yourself. Since the Rinascente Roma Tritone is open until 10pm nightly, a lot of people flock here when the rest of Rome鈥檚 retail stores close for the evening, so late-night shopping is a highlight here!
