During the 2018 CECA Conference and Awards event, the museum received recognition internationally from the International Committee for Education and Cultural Action by winning the 鈥榖est Educational Practice Program鈥�.

Msheireb Museum does not charge any fee for entrance. They have kept it open so that people can have a good time studying and learning more about the culture of Qatar and how things have evolved from the past till now.

On Mondays to Thursdays they normally open from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm and Fridays, they open from 3.00 pm to 9.00 pm. Saturdays the opening schedule is from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. the Museum is closed on Sundays.

The Four heritage houses at the Msheireb Museum have been equipped with interactive modern technology making it easy to take visitors through an efficient journey in which they can experience the history of how things have been in the past interactively and engagingly.

The four heritage houses in the Mshereib Museums are built in the traditional Qatar style each with some colonnaded courtyards that are from the 19th century. An example of them is the Radwani house in which the rooms are structured around a central open space. These houses allow visitors to look at traditional family life and how they have transformed over the period.

Bin Jelmood’s house gives a history of the global slave trade mainly in the Indian Ocean region and the changes that followed after it was abolished. We also have the Mohammed Bin Jassim House which focuses on the past, present, and sustainable elements throughout the Msheireb district over time.
