You can rent a stand-up paddleboard to explore the lagoon. It’s a lot of fun paddling around the lake it’s a perfect place to try if you haven’t paddle-boarded before.

If you don’t like to paddleboard the alternative is to rent a Kayak which is a great way to get around in the lagoon as well.

Swimming in the lagoon is another activity one can do many jellyfishes are swimming around in the lagoon but don’t worry, these kinds of jellyfishes don’t sting you.

There is a springboard right at the backside of the boathouse, which is a lot of fun. It’s about five meters high where you can jump into the most beautiful turquoise water.

7. To visit the remarkable Sugba lagoon it will cost you Peso 1,600 or $30 including the entrance fee

To visit Sugba Lagoon from Del Carmen by yourself costs you 1,600 Pesos or $30 for the boat ride including entrance to the lagoon.

You can split this price with other people if you like to share the boat. There is an additional environmental fee of 100 Peso per person or $1.80

If you like to rent a Kayak or SUP you have to pay 500 pesos $9. Alternatively, you can book a tour from General Luna directly for which you might have to count a bit more.

8. A boat ride to the Lagoon will take you through a fascinating mangrove forest where crocodiles live

This once hidden spot is now more well-known but still worth a day trip. The perfect getaway if you want to experience something different than the busy tourist area.

Hire a boat from Del Carmen which will take you through a huge Mangrove Forest where the world’s biggest saltwater crocodile lives.

But not to worry you will not see any of them during the day. Once you get closer to the lagoon you will pass astonishing little communities that live in the most remote places you can imagine.

9. The amazing hidden tree cliff has an epic view of the lagoon 

There is a hidden tree cliff it has been semi-dismantled now for some reason but is still climbable, however it is quite dangerous.

The steps up the tree are missing and you are stepping between nails on a slipper branch.

At the top of the tree is a nice wooden platform, which one can see is about 7-8 meters high. It has epic views of the lagoon and you can see how deep the water is from up there.

10. The famous Lagoon’s name Sugba comes from Visayan meaning to grill

The lagoon is said to have gotten its name from the Visayan word Sugba meaning to grill about the smoke seemingly coming off the lagoon when it is covered with fog.

The first recorded sighting by Europeans of Siargao Island was by Spanish navigator Bernardo de la Torre on board the carrack San Juan de Letrán in 1543 when attempting to return from Sarangani to New Spain.
