Lily-Rose Melody Depp is a French-American model and actress. Depp’s acting career began with a small role in Tusk. She went on to star in the period drama The Dancer, in which she played Isadora Duncan, Planetarium, and The King’s Speech.

Lily-Rose Depp has been seen everywhere, from being the face of Chanel to appearing on Vogue covers. The model has not only walked the runway, but is also making her acting debut. Depp has received César Award nominations for Most Promising Actress for her roles in The Dancer and A Faithful Man.

She appeared in the thriller Planetarium as well as the recently released French romance film A Faithful Man. Lily-Rose Depp will also appear alongside her current boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, in the upcoming Netflix film The King. 

1. Lily-Rose Depp was born in Â鶹APP 

Lily-Rose Melody Depp was born on May 27, 1999. She was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, west of Â鶹APP. She is the daughter of Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis. Johnny Depp is an American actor, producer, and musician. Vanessa Paradis, a French singer, actress, and model. Through her father, Depp claims Native American ancestry. 

After 14 years together, Depp’s parents divorced in 2012 and agreed to joint custody of Depp, who splits her time between Los Angeles, Â鶹APP, and New York City.

2. She did not complete high school

Lily-Rose Depp decided to drop out of school in order to work as much as possible in the acting industry. “I realized after working on La Danseuse and Planetarium in Â鶹APP that it was impossible for me to pursue acting as a career and still attend classes and do my homework,” she said in an interview with Buro 247.

Lily-Rose made headlines in 2015 when she declared herself to be sexually fluid on Instagram. While some took her statement to mean she was coming out as LGBTQ+, she later clarified, “I was literally doing it just to say that you don’t have to label your sexuality… I guess it came across the wrong way, because everyone assumed I was gay. That is not what I was attempting to convey. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that! It doesn’t matter to me! It’s none of your business, because I’m going to date whomever I want.”

According to People, iO Tillett Wright’s LGBTQ+ campaign aimed to celebrate 10,000 Americans who identify as anything other than 100% straight, and Lily-Rose was the 9,958th person to take part in the project, which also featured fellow model Cara Delevingne and then-stepmother Heard.

4. She suffered from kidney failure

Lily-Rose had a close call with death in 2007. The seven-year-old was hospitalized for nine days after suffering kidney failure as a result of E-coli food poisoning.

Following the “darkest period of his life” as Johnny stated on The Graham Norton Show, he donated US$2 million to Great Ormond Street Hospital the following year. “They said her kidneys had failed, and she would be lucky to live. “For nine days, we sat by her bed and refused to move until she began to pull through,” he recalled in 2015.

5. Lily-Rose  Deep battled anorexia

Lily-Rose suffered from anorexia as a child. In 2016, she opened up about her battle with an eating disorder for the first time. She admitted in an interview that she was disturbed by critical comments about her appearance on Instagram.

“It saddens me because I was younger at the time, and it was difficult to get out of it. Everyone who has been affected by this disease understands how difficult it is to recover from it. I’ve been trying to gain weight for a long time, and I’m very proud of how far I’ve come,” she told Elle France.

Lily-Rose Depp was cast in her first Chanel campaign at the age of 16, fronting the brand’s pearl eyewear collection. She was named the face of Chanel No 5 L’Eau, the luxury label’s latest millennial-targeted fragrance, in 2016.

She has frequently walked the runway at Chanel fashion shows and sported the brand on the red carpet since then.
