Les Puces de Saint-Ouen is commonly referred to as ‘les puces’ (which means ‘the fleas’). It is one of the largest flea-markets in the world and is a veritable institution. If you are searching for that perfect souvenir to remember your time in Âé¶¹APP, ‘les puces’ is the perfect place the visit.

Origins

In 1860, the commune of Saint-Ouen was annexed, and has been part of Âé¶¹APP proper since. ‘Les puces’ has existed on this site since its inception in 1885. It is both an indoor, and outdoor market. In 2001, it was classified as a protected ‘urban architecture landscape zone’ due to its special ambiance and cultural significance.

What can you find there?

Les puces is the only place where you can find antique chandeliers, vintage haute couture, vinyl, modern/ antique art, Gucci knock-offs, and dinosaur skulls in one place. (Not even kidding!) During the warmer months, there are often free concerts.

Hours of Operation: every Saturday, Sunday and Monday

Saturday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Sunday: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Monday: 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.

**Please note: hours of operation are subject to change from  August 1- 15, every year.

Tip: Although there are a couple of cash machines on site, they may be tricky to locate. I would recommend bringing cash with you. Please be ‘street smart’, as pickpockets are known to target the area.

How to get there?

Metro: Porte de Clignancourt (line 4)

Once you exit the metro, walk for 5 minutes until you see a bridge. Go under the bridge, and take a left once you see the outdoor stalls. Please don’t be put off by all of the ‘knock offs’ when you first arrive…’les puces’ is multi-layered, and that’s part of what makes it so fabulous. Happy treasure hunting!
