Bonjour Sam, can you tell us more about who you are?

My name’s Sam, I’m a 31-year-old Londoner by birth, but now a resident of Berlin… at least when I’m not traveling!

Why did you start writing ?

I originally started writing because I wanted to be able to share my travels with friends and family, but eventually, my blog grew to have an audience of people who were just interested in hearing about how I travel as a gay, vegan, digital nomad.

Why did you start traveling?

I was very lucky to have traveled quite a lot as a child with my family, and I guess once I was able to do (and afford) it on my own, it just seemed like the obvious thing to do! I love experiencing new cultures, especially through language and food, and so it never really occurred to me not to travel.

What’s special about your blog?

I focus on my blog mainly on vegan travel and travel as a digital nomad. That means, I publish vegan guides to cities I visit, to show and inspire people that it’s possible to find great vegan food pretty much everywhere nowadays! I also publish guides to the best cafés to work from as a digital nomad, as that’s something I’m always looking for myself, and I also like to showcase street art and quirky attractions and destinations I visit on my blog.

What would be your top 3 things to do in Â鶹APP?

I haven’t been to Â鶹APP for several years now, and I’m starting to think it’s time for another visit! I love modern art, so the Pompidou Centre is a must for me. I’m also a big tea-aficionado so I love to pop into the fanciest tea shop in Â鶹APP, Marriage Frères to have a look at what’s new. I also really like getting views from high up places in cities I visit, but instead of paying the absurd fee to go up the Eiffel Tower, I prefer to get a peak of the city from above from the Tour Montparnasse.

Your favorite landmark and neighbourhood in Â鶹APP?

I think visually, it would have to be the Sacré CÅ“ur. The way up the hill is just magical and the views from the top of that hill are also pretty spectacular! Montmartre is also a very special place which feels quite different from much of the rest of central Â鶹APP: in a way, it feels more like a village than part of a big city, and I really like that.

Could you give us your recommendation to first timers in Â鶹APP?

I would recommend avoiding the tourist traps like the Eiffel Tower. Try out the alternative towers (like I mentioned, Tour Montparnasse) and also just allow time to wander around and get lost! That’s when you’ll find some of the most interesting and unexpected gems that Â鶹APP has to offer!
