Mawra Hocane is a Pakistani actress and model who works in Urdu television primarily. She was born on 28^th September, 1992 in Karachi, Pakistan. She made her first debut with A-Plus鈥檚 serial Khichari Salsa in 2011. She holds a degree in law from the University of London.

Her portrayal of Nadia in Ek Tamanna Lahasil Si, Haya in Aahista Aahista and Anaya in Sabaat is what made her famous. Radhika Rao鈥檚 romantic drama Sanam Teri Kasam opposite Harshvardhan Rane is the drama movie which enabled her make a debut in Bollywood.

She made a debut in Pakistan with Nadeem Baig鈥檚 Comedy drama Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 in 2018. She changed her family name from 鈥淗ussain鈥� to 鈥淗ocane鈥� to give it a unique spelling while in 7^th grade.   The top interesting facts about Mawra Hocane are as discussed below.

According to an interview with The Express Tribune, Mawra earned a distinction in law at 85 which was no mean fit.  The achievement demonstrated that Mawra is an all- rounder. She graduated on a Thursday.

5. Mawra鈥檚 Surname Is Supposed to Be              鈥淗ussain鈥� Not 鈥淗ocane鈥�

While in seventh grade Mawra changed her surname to Hocane from Hussain. When asked why she did it, she disclosed that she was very little then and just wanted her surname to be unique as a lot of children in the class had the same surname.

She thought then that people would pronounce 鈥�C鈥� as 鈥�S鈥� but to her surprise instead of pronouncing it as Hussain they pronounced it as 鈥淗u-Can鈥�. Her parents didn鈥檛 seem to care at first but later they became a little upset.

Mawra took a break from her law studies in 2014 after she was offered a role in the Bollywood flick Sanam Teri Kasam. When she decided to go back to class to resume her studies many did not understand why she chose to do that as she already had a blossoming career in acting.

In an interview Maura silenced her critics by informing them that she decided to go back to school because she believed in finishing what she started.

She further noted that to her, studies is not a means to obtain a job but it鈥檚 all about acquiring knowledge and polishing one鈥檚 intelligence.

7. Mawra and her sister Urwa Hocane                  Launched a Clothing Line

Mawra and her actress sister Urwa launched a clothing line under the marketing tagline UXM.  They announced the decision on a Sunday in 2019 through their social media accounts. They posted pictures on Instagram announcing their resolve to launch the clothing line.

The two sisters have been each other鈥檚 support system throughout their lives and are just a year apart with Urwa being the older one.

The clothing line was an attempt to translate to something tangible their sisterhood bond.

The anti-terrorism Bollywood film 鈥淧hantom鈥� was banned by a court decision in Pakistan after its release. However, Mawra attempted to go against the ban by suggesting that people should be allowed to watch the film as it鈥檚 against terrorism in her tweets.

She received vitriol from social media users in Pakistan with some suggesting that she should be banned.

Some people even went ahead and accused her of being thirsty for Bollywood movies and the bags of money that are associated with them and she should be kicked out as she didn鈥檛 deserve to be a citizen of Pakistan.

9. Mawra Likes Cooking and Is A Cry Baby

Mawra learnt her cooking from her mother and is known to be fond of cooking. It is noted that Mawra is very good at cooking Biryani as she can cook Biryani very well among other foods.
