Phenomenal statistics French prodigy has been putting up

June 22, 2023, might be the day whereby the most exhilarating NBA draft in recent history comes to fruition. Thanks to Victor Wembanyama there’s so much buzz surrounding the draft something that has not been seen for quite some time. Wembanyama is the name which fans can’t stop singing and it’s all for the right reason. The 7’4″ French phenom who currently plays centre for the Metropolitans 92 of the LNB Pro A has been leaving everyone in awe achieving impressive stats and displaying his raw talent.

Recently turning 19 years, Victor is already a household name in the basketball world and would only look to cement his place among the greats as he gets to the NBA. His biggest strengths are his height standing at 7’4″ and boasting an 8″ wingspan. These attributes present him with an advantage around the court as he is easily able to make shots, block shots and get rebounds. Victor’s size is not the only thing that makes him an exceptional player, his skills and height are backed up by the outrageous numbers he has been putting up.

Wembanyama averages 21.3 points per game, 9.9 rebounds per game and 3.1 blocks per game. This is just the beginning of his career and it is projected that the numbers will go even higher. Considering his age and the professional level he currently plays at surely makes these stats more impressive.

Wembanyama also averaged 20.3 points per game, 10.0 rebounds per game,2.7 blocks per game and shot 53.3% at the three-point line during three World Cup qualifying games for France according to Forbes. Although the stats are quite impressive, that is not the only thing that stands out for the French phenom, it is the play style that distinguishes him.

Wemby’s versatility makes playing offence and defence an easy task. He poses a threat with his solid jump shot as his height makes it possible to alter the ball trajectory and swat away shots which is a hindrance to opposing teams to scoring. His quickness on the feet makes it easier to defend faster and smaller players.

Victor Wembanyama has a scoring efficiency and total shooting percentage of 58.7%. His shooting percentages are 71.4% from the charity stripe 32.0% from deep and 55.4% from the two-point zone. Victor is not far behind Stephen Curry in terms of percentage in the NBA and plans to raise it to reach the peak marks that professional NBA shooters are producing. Stephen Curry now has a 62.6% shooting percentage, making him one of the finest if not the best NBA shooters of all time. This only emphasizes the point that Wemby has the skills to back up his big body. Still young and with plenty of room for improvement, his potential is already soaring off the charts perhaps he will be going for Stephen Curry’s numbers.

His path to NBA stardom is irrefutable if the trajectory he is on is kept constant. Fans are eager to see what he is going to achieve in future as he possesses the potential to be the league’s best centre.
