The 2023 NBA Draft is just around the corner and franchises cannot stop strategizing on how to get the top picks. Chicago Bulls is hoping to be in the frontline to land the top four and getting the first-round pick would be a miracle they hope to get. Getting the first overall pick would mean the highly prospected Victor Wembanyama will be headed to the United Center.

Victor Wembanyama joining the Chicago Bulls would add new energy to the team as they want to revive their championships day.

The Bulls were the most dominant team in the 90s when they were led by the legendary Michael Jordan to six NBA Championships. That is a ridiculous number considering the Bulls team won the championships in two three-peats both happening in 10 years.

Wembanyama joining the Chicago Bulls would mean that he is set to fill the big shoes that Michael Jordan once wore. It will mean that he has to lead the Chicago Bulls to championships and many will wonder how he will manage to live up to that.

Victor is poised to take over the league by storm when he gets drafted on June 22, 2023, the day set for the NBA draft. The young man is an anomaly among athletes due to his towering 7’4″ height, 8-foot wingspan, and general playing style.

Despite his height, he has excellent ball-handling skills and a quick first step that allow him to outrun the defence and make his shot. He has a smooth and easy three-point shooting stroke.

He is a great rim protector and a force to be reckoned with in passing lanes when playing defence because of his length and quickness.

He is the holy grail at the age of 19, and having all these qualities has already won him the adoration of renowned players like Magic Johnson, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant, and many more.

His talent is undeniable but will he be able to live up to the expectation?
Will he be able to take over from where MJ left off?

We can only get an appropriate answer to this once he gets to the NBA.

The Bulls finished the regular season with a record of 40-42 which qualified them for a play-in. They however got eliminated which shattered their playoff aspirations earlier.

Chicago has a 1.7 per cent chance to win the draft lottery for the first overall pick. Although they do not have the best overall odds as the highest teams with 14% are Detroit Pistons, San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets, the Bulls will be counting on luck.

It is not like it has never happened, back in 2008, the Bulls needed to upgrade the roster after a 33-49 season. Unfortunately, their odds of winning the first choice in the draft lottery were the ninth-best, giving them a 1.7 per cent chance.

Though there were only 17 ping pong balls in the pool, the Bulls were inadvertently given the No. 1 pick. They selected Derrick Rose, who eventually became one of the greatest point guards in history.
The Bulls will be counting to have the same luck come May 16 when the draft lottery happens.

The Bulls’ 2023 first-round pick, which was a part of the Nikola Vucevic trade, is top-four protected, but it is quite probable that the pick will be sent to Orlando.

That implies Chicago will keep the selection and send Orlando its 2024 first-round pick if the Bulls finish among the top four in the Draft Lottery.

But certainly welcoming the French prodigy Victor Wembanyama to the United Center would be one of the best things to happen for the Chicago Bulls.
