The remote work revolution is going global, and Turkiye just issued an open invitation to digital nomads worldwide. The country’s newly launched visa program beckons foreign remote workers and online entrepreneurs to experience the rich culture, cuisine, and history of famed cities like Istanbul.

“With its vibrant energy, impressive infrastructure, and unique fusion of East and West, Istanbul is an ideal destination for digital nomads seeking an enriching experience,” said Aylin Turkoglu, Director of the Remote Turkiye initiative. “Our visa allows them to live like locals while taking advantage of all this crossroads city has to offer.”

Simple Application, Lucrative Benefits

Applying for Turkiye’s digital nomad visa is designed to be a straightforward process. Interested remote workers aged 21-55 can submit an online application. Successful applicants receive a Digital Nomad ID to obtain their visa.

In return, they can enjoy renewable 1-year residency, access to Turkiye’s public services, and the ability to easily rent long-term accommodations and open a Turkish bank account. With a strong emphasis on work-life balance, the program aims to attract professionals eager to explore vibrant Turkish culture between Zoom calls/meetings.

Istanbul: An Eclectic Remote Worker’s Paradise

As Turkiye’s largest metropolis, Istanbul seamlessly blends the modern and the ancient. Digital nomads can spend mornings taking conference calls in trendy  cafes, and afternoons exploring iconic wonders like the Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, or the  Grand Bazaar.

“Istanbul has a little something for every remote worker’s taste,” Turkoglu explained. “Amazing cuisine, a thriving arts scene, incredible historic sites – this city truly has it all. And with great transport links to Europe and beyond, digital nomads have a unique hub for both work and global exploration.”

Turkiye is doubling down on the digital nomad trend by promoting its key cities as remote work havens. If the early interest is any indication, this ancient nation could soon become the newest hotspot on the digital nomad map.
