The Sunday of April 21 is the day when every Roman citizen, visitor, and tourist will all head to the Appian Way for the long-anticipated Appian Run. This is the race that allows every participant to soak up the Roman atmosphere and imagine walking on the pavements that were used by brave men who built the city.
The Roman Apian Run will be a journey that transports the participants to the ancient days. This is not a usual run where athletes and ordinary people come to run, sweat, and go home. This is a chance to walk on the paths that were used in ancient times by the Roman legions, emperors, and warriors.
This run will take participants on a thirteen-kilometer run along the ancient Apian Way, which has also been given the name 鈥楺ueen of Roads.鈥� The highway has been in existence for a long time, as it was constructed in 312 BC. The Apian Way is a testament to the ancient engineering brains. The path was perfectly built to connect Rome to the southern part of Italy.
The Appian Run is considered a huge event because sections of the road are closed, allowing runners to enjoy a smooth run. Everyone will have a chance to see their favorite Roman ruins and ancient sites, including the catacombs.
