 Enthusiasts are advised by experts that Monday is to catch the awe-inspiring sight, but Tuesday evening will not disappoint either. This occurrence, where two full moons appear in a single month, is typically referred to as a blue moon.

 Astronomy Ireland has clarified that the moon’s proximity to Earth can fluctuate by up to 15 per cent, resulting in a heightened luminosity. When the moon is close to Earth, it is designated as a supermoon, leading to a 30 per cent increase in brightness.

 This year, skygazers can look forward to four consecutive Supermoons, making this astronomical phenomenon all the more special. Astronomy Ireland further elaborated that the Super Blue Moon, a conjunction of a Blue Moon and a Full Moon, is exceedingly rare. Experts caution that such an event will not recur until 2037.

 The Editor of Astronomy Ireland magazine emphasized the unique opportunity during this lunar event, encouraging individuals to capture creative photographs on Monday and Tuesday evenings from sunset onwards. These images will have the chance to be featured in the Astronomy Ireland magazine and preserved in the National Libraries of both Ireland and Great Britain.
