Lisbon, the country’s capital, took the highest position among Portuguese entries, coming in at a respectable 96th place within the “Silver Cities” (no. 38 to 100) category. This achievement highlights Portugal’s strong showing, with Lisbon receiving high marks in the Citizens (323.8) and Economy (347.4) indicators.

Porto, Portugal’s second-largest city, follows closely behind at 119th place, having been classified as a “Bronze City” (no. 101 to 250).  Similar to Lisbon, Porto scores well in the Citizens indicator (326.8), reflecting a positive sentiment among its residents. However, its ranking is slightly lower due to a lower score in the Environment category (253.5).

Beyond the major cities, the Happy City Index recognizes the charm of other Portuguese destinations. Faro, in the Algarve region, sits at 146th place, excelling in the Economy indicator (319.9).
