The Polish police have arrested a 16-year-old boy in Warsaw who is suspected of throwing Molotov cocktails at a synagogue. The attack on the No偶yk Synagogue which happened on Wednesday, at around 1 am resulted in slight damage to its exterior. At the time of the attack, no congregants were at the prayer hall and therefore no casualties.

While speaking to the PAP reporters, police spokesperson Robert Szumiata said, 鈥淗e was completely surprised, he didn鈥檛 want to talk, he didn鈥檛 reveal his motives鈥�.  He further went on to say that they would be sending a request to the Prosecutor鈥檚 office to initiate an investigation and press charges. The suspect is said to have no prior record but if he is convicted he can face up to 10 years imprisonment. 

The police spokesperson further went on to say that the teenager would be investigated under a section in the Penal Code that stipulates that, 鈥渨hoever causes an event that threatens the life or health of many people or large-scale property, in the form of a fire, shall be punished by up to 10 years in prison鈥�.
