A man who has been accused of assaulting random women has been arrested by the New York Police on Tuesday. The police allege that the man, Daquan Armstead, 31 punched random women in the head, face and sometimes on their backs. He has been taken to police custody on suspicion of hate-motivated assaults on seven women. 

While being asked by the New York Police Department鈥檚 Hate Crime Task Force about the allegations of assault that happened between late March and early April, the suspect responded, 鈥淭hey spit at me鈥�. His claim that the victim spit on him was been refuted by the police

While addressing NBC New York, the police revealed that there had been close to 100 unprovoked attacks on residents particularly women since the year began. One of the arrests made previously concerning previous attacks gained attention after the victims told their stories on TikTok. However, allegations involving Daquan do not appear to have been posted on social media

The police department released a timeline of the attacks on the victims:

On 24th March at 8 PM, the police were informed that a 30-year-old woman was struck in the face in Lower East Side. The woman was hit hard enough that she got dizzy but she did not seek medical attention.

On the 29th, another woman was hit a few blocks from where the first incident happened.

On April 2, a 38-year-old woman was struck at the back of her head in Greenwich Village.

On April 5, the police responded to a report where a 25-year-old woman was struck in the face on the Lower East Side. A few minutes later, a 44-year-old woman was struck in the face a few blocks away

Three days later, a 24-year-old woman was struck on the back of her head at the Lower East Side. 

The last attack happened on April 17 when an unknown person in Lower Manhattan struck a 27-year-old woman.
