A shootout on Wednesday evening in Washington DC leaves a man dead and five others including two children injured. The shooting happened in the Carver Langston neighbourhood at 6 pm after the suspects got out of the car and started shooting at the crowd. 

Officers came to the scene following multiple 911 calls made by people on the scene and found the victims of the shooting. Among the victims were two men, a woman, and a nine-year-old who were rushed to the local hospital for treatment. A 12-year-old boy later arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound making the total number of victims five.

While talking to reporters, metropolitan police chief Pamela Smith said, 鈥淭his is another example, and I’ve been here before in this space, of violence that we cannot, just cannot accept in our communities鈥�. The chief also sent her condolences to the family of the man who died in the shooting as well as those affected by it.

To identify the suspects, the police have released the images that are suspected to have been used by the suspects- a gray or light blue four sedan with heavily tinted windows and paper license plates. Law enforcement authorities have urged the public to report any information concerning the car immediately.
