Token, the beloved arcade bar in Dublin 7 known for its food, beer, and arcade machines, will be closing its doors for the final time on Sunday, June 16. The owners have attributed the closure to the rising cost of living, stating that operating costs have become too high to sustain the business, despite being consistently fully booked.
In a message posted on Instagram, the owners announced the closure, expressing gratitude for the support received over the past 8 years. They acknowledged the community’s support during challenging times and thanked their team for their dedication, especially during difficult situations such as floods, fires, and the pandemic.

The owners also mentioned that they may consider reopening in the future, but currently, there are no plans to do so. Until the closing date, they plan to make the most of their remaining time by bringing back menu favorites, reducing pint prices, discounting cocktails, and hosting special events. They encouraged patrons to use any remaining tokens or gift cards before the final day.
Despite the sadness of the closure, the owners expressed pride in their efforts and the memories they’ve created over the years.
