Roma is braced to be the host for the final stage of the famous Giro d’Italia bike race when the event ends the one hundred and seventh edition in style. Also known as the Tour of Italy, the Giro d’Italia is one of the best and toughest bike races in Europe, ranking behind the Tour de France. The Giro d’Italia covers thousands of kilometers as the cyclists race through Italy. This is done as people compete for the prestigious pink jersey and, ultimately, the Giro champion. Starting on May 4, the event is set to have a grand finale in the Eternal City on May 26. The Union Cycliste Internationale teams around the world bring their best athletes to compete in this event.

According to Wanted in Rome, the equipped cyclists are expected to cycle three thousand, three hundred and eighty-six kilometers. The event is expected to run for twenty-one days and twenty-one stages. Rome being chosen as the final stage is the best thing to happen to the people in Rome, including visitors.

The route through the city begins in the EUR district, passing through several landmarks before finally ending at the Colosseum. Cyclists will also make a one-hundred-and-twenty-five-kilometer circuit through the city before finally concluding the race.

As the city’s mayor reported, choosing Rome was good for the people in the city because previous events have been watched on television, including last year’s event, which had over eight hundred million people across the world watching. 

This is also just the sixth time that the famous cycling event has been brought to Rome on the final day. Other finals in Rome happened through the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, with the last being in 2018.
