The Corpus Christi Procession is a Catholic event where Christians publicly display their faith in God. With Jesus at the center of the event and God the creator of the universe, the people show oneness. This centuries-old event does not just welcome members of the Catholic Church but also the general public.

This is an event that is held in Catholic churches and on the public streets globally. However, the procession in Rome is on the global stage because it is led by the Pope. 

What is the significance of the Corpus Christi procession? You may ask. Well, there are a few reasons. First, this is the moment that allows Catholic Church members to publicly declare their faith in the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist. It is also a form of public worship.

Preparations for the event begin as early as a month before the event and include residents decorating their balconies or windows on the route where the procession will take place.

The church choir also prepares by rehearsing the songs they will sing before, during, and after the procession. Most importantly, the general public prepares for this day by setting aside time to be part of the event.
