Antony Starr, a New Zealand native (born 25 October 1975), has made a name for himself in the acting world over the course of more than 25 years. His cv includes over two dozen television appearances, and he has demonstrated his ability to play a wide range of characters.

He has recently received a lot of attention for his role as Homelander in the Amazon Prime series The Boys. Fans can always count on Antony to bring his strong presence and dynamic abilities to the role, whether he’s on the big or small screen.

In the flagship Amazon Prime Video show The Boys, he rose to international prominence as the narcissistic, all-powerful supervillain Homelander.

Numerous fans urged Starr to be nominated for an Emmy for his performance in season three of The Boys, which is now available on Amazon Prime.

He has numerous other film and television credits, as well as a new film in the works, directed by Guy Ritchie and co-starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

Nevertheless, when Starr was arrested in Spain a few weeks before the release of the third season of The Boys, he became the subject of negative press coverage.

Starr was arrested on March 2, 2022, in Alicante, Spain, after he drunkenly violently attacked a 21-year-old chef in a pub.

According to reports, Starr punched the chef twice, causing him to be taken to the hospital and receiving four stitches.

When the conflict occurred, Starr was in Spain filming the Guy Ritchie film.

He was sentenced to a 12-month suspended prison sentence for wounding (all sentences under two years are immediately suspended in Spain if the offender does not have a criminal record), and had to pay the equivalent of £4,400 in restitution to avoid jail.

“I got myself into a negative situation and I reacted poorly, and the way forward from that was very clear,”  Starr said later this year about the altercation.

“It was as simple as taking ownership of it, which I did, and then learning from it and moving forward.”

However, in Antony’s opinion, American shows aren’t always what they’re cracked up to be. Antony told Collider, “Oftentimes, you read these pilot scripts that come through for American work, and they don’t sing to you.”
