Top 10 Interesting Facts about Paing Takhon

He is one of Myanmar’s most influential celebrities. He is a model, singer, and actor with millions of fans. He began his career as a runway model in 2014 and has since won multiple awards.

He was born on 17^th September 1996 in Kawthaung, Tanintharyi Region, Myanmar to parent Tun Moe and his wife Khin Kyu. He is currently a student at the University of Distance Education, Yangon, majoring in Psychology.

His career at John Lwin’s Star & Model International Modeling Agency where his career began took another turn. He started advertising shows, runaways, TV, and DVDs commercials and was featured in music videos and on magazine covers as a model.

He rose to fame in 2017 as an actor and made his debut with a leading role in the film Midnight Traveller. He had since starred and played the main lead in Bad Boys2 and Thaman Kyar (Weretiger).

He is an ASEAN Economic Community ambassador and was appointed as Myanmar’s tourism ambassador to Thailand by the Myanmar Tourism Marketing Association together.

He donated all the money he received from selling his solo album “Chit Thu” (Lover) to orphan children from Ananda Metta orphan school.

His Facebook and Instagram accounts were taken down following his previous post on the dictatorship in the country. He was arrested on 8^th April 2021 and was sentenced to three years of hard labor but was pardoned on 2^nd March 2022.

Paing joined John Lwin’s Star & Model International Modeling Agency in 2014 and took professional training and cat walking. He started as a runway model and did countless advertising shows and runaways.

Since he started his career in modeling, he has appeared in TV and DVDs commercials and has also featured in music videos.

He has showcased his talent in painting severally on his Instagram. He is an art teacher and has posted his work on his Facebook account which has grown enormously among his fans. Many of his fans have openly suggested he open an art gallery where he can offer art classes.

3. Paing Takhon is a major ambassador for many major brands

In 2014 after joining the modeling agency, he was made the brand ambassador for Pond Myanmar. He has since worked with major brands like Oppo Myanmar, Telenor Myanmar, Sunkist Myanmar, T247 energy drink, MG Vehicles Myanmar, and Sailun Tire Myanmar. He is known as the face of many brands as he is a fashion model in magazine cover photos.

4. He donated all his money to orphans

In 2017, he released his first debut solo album Chit Thu. The album did not receive many credits and also as many views but managed to sell a few albums. He used this money by donating to orphan children from Ananda Metta orphan school. This is an art of humility and many of his fans were proud of his good deeds.

After releasing his album in 2017, he became famous and started his acting career. His first role was in the movie the Midnight Traveller where he played the leading role alongside Nang Khin Zay Yar.

He then played the main role in the film Bad Boys 2[Angel of Bad Boys]. In 2018, he was the main lead alongside Angel Lamung in the action horror film Thaman Kyar (Weretiger). He is cast in the documentary series Kha Yee Thwar Kauk Kyaung (Traveller’s Notes) alongside Thinzar Wint Kyaw and plays the role of the lead actor.

He became popular in Thailand and held a grand fan meeting in Bangkok Thailand. He was later cast in the horror film Thu Bal Thu Lae (Who is he?). He has also appeared in commercial endorsements and soap operas in Thailand.

It’s not new for models to have animal pets and Paing has proved this right. He is a devoted animal lover as his Instagram is filled with beautiful animal pictures baby rhinos, cute puppies, and kittens. If he was not studying psychology and never started his acting and modeling career, he would have probably started a dog business.

7. He is Myanmar’s tourism ambassador to Thailand

On 21^st September 2017, Paing was appointed Myanmar’s tourist ambassador to Thailand by the Myanmar Tourism Marketing Association together with the Myanmar Tourism Federation. After his appointment, he tried his hand at Thai boxing.

He is also an ASEAN Economic Community ambassador.

8. Paing Takhon is one of the few Myanmar’s with an international profile

Myanmar has been under a military regime since gaining independence and freedom of expression and speech have not been openly expressed.

After the country opened up to the outside world a few years ago Paing was one of the citizens to get an international profile. This is mainly because of his career as a model, actor, and ambassador.

9. He was ranked number one in “The 100 Most Handsome Faces of 2021”

His handsome looks have not gone unnoticed as he has been featured in several international lists. He was named No. 10 in the “100 Most Handsome Faces of 2020” by TC Candler. The next year he was ranked number in “100 Most Handsome Faces of 2020”.

He had previously been featured on Buzz Feed’s “23 Stunning South Asian Men That Are Too Gorgeous for Words”. He was also listed on The Myanmar Times Top 10 actors.

10. He was sentenced to three years imprisonment but later pardoned

Paing was an active member in the Anti-coup movement both on his social media and in rallies. This were protests all over Myanmar against the military coup. He was arrested along with other well-known celebrities for their involvement in the protests.

He was sentenced to three years of hard labor but on 2^nd March 2022, the state pardoned him with other celebrities and they were released.
