Nay Toe was born on September 9, 1981, in Manaung, Rakhine State, Burma. He is a Myanmar Academy Award-winning film actor and comedian with the Burmese traditional dance troupe Htawara Hninzi. He is the son of Aung Than(father) together with Than Myaing (mother). He is the second child among four siblings. Min Thway his younger brother is an actor as well.

He won his first academy award for best actor in the 2009 film Moe Nya Einmet Myu and he later won other awards. When he was starting his modelling and acting career, he did not have connections to the Burmese film industry. Toe is one of the most paid actors in Myanmar.

Nay Toe is an Arakanese film actor. He has won Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Award for being a good Actor three times.

In 2009 he won with Moe Nya Einmet Myu, in the year 2005 with Nat Khat Mhar Tae Tite Pwal, and Tar Tay Gyi in 2007. Nay Toe is one of the highest-paid actors in Myanmar for his good work.

2. He Does Humanitarian Works

Nay Toe has done a lot of humanitarian work and by doing so he has helped people in need. Some of these generous acts he has done include.

In 2008, nay Toe raised funds for Cyclone Nargis also known as (very Severe Cyclonic Storm Nargis) which caused the worst natural disaster in the historical records of Burma making many people lose their lives.

He has well-raised funds for 2010 Cyclone Giri and took part in other charity shows held in Burma and overseas. When he won the Academy Award, on Jan 29, 2011, for being the best actor, instead of through a party Toe donated the money to homes for the Aged and Orphanages as a way of celebrating his victory. This show the humanitarian and generosity in Nay.

3. Revealed his Artistic Ability and Interest in Art at Young Age

Nay Toe has revealed his artistic ability and interest in art and craft since a young age. His ability in paintings and Sculptures is excellent, his favourite painting techniques are watercolour and acrylic.

He does good and attractive drawing and he has won awards for his drawings and Sculptures since his primary school days as a student. However, he has other hobbies such as reading, photography, music, and travelling. In the field of sports swimming is his favourite one and he likes to play tennis and golf occasionally.

Due to the misjudgment he talked about that fact in his book and made an apology to people for what he may have seemed in some situations stating that it was not intentional and never meant to be arrogant, whereas he assured them that he has a pleasant, warm and friendly mind towards anybody.

Since 2001, Nay has been starring in over a hundred Direct- to- videos. Direct-to-video is a term used to describe a film that has been released to the public on home video formats without being released in film theatres or broadcast on television. This release has become something of a lifeline for independent filmmakers as well as small companies trying to make it through to the competitive industry.

6. Nay Composed a Book About Himself

On January 1, 2011, Toe released his self-written biography and fashion book known as Un Tightened Doors. In 21 sections of the book, he talked about himself.

He covered everything about himself starting from the early days of his career, he talked about his interests, hobbies, family life, love affairs personal notes, poems, and a variety of photos gallery not forgetting his religious insight into Buddhism as a devotee Buddhist.

7. He is a Buddhism Believer

Buddhism also known as Dharmavinaya is an Indian religion or a philosophical tradition based on a series of original teachings attributed to Gautama Buddha.

In the biography book Toe wrote about himself, he has four self-written articles where he shares his religious beliefs and Buddha teachings that inspire him. He wrote that Buddha is the most respectable and inspirational person in his life showing how strongly he believes in his religion.

8. Won Many Awards

Nay has acted in many movies which have made him gain fame. Continuous perseverance and dedication in his creation of art have made him gain fame and be recognized by the Burmese audience from time to time.

2009, was a Remarquable year for him to win the Academy trophy in Moe Nya Einmet Myu movie as the best leading actor. He as well won another Academy Award in Nat Khat Mhar Tae Tite Pwal an action-drama film in 2015 and in 2017 he won the academy award for the comedy horror film Tar Tay Gyi. Nay as well won the Star Award in 2018, for the film Bridge of Clouds.

9. He Comes from an Acting Family

Nay is an actor as well as a comedian. He is the second child of four siblings. It is more interesting to know that its younger brother Min Thway is an actor as well.

Min Thway was an Arakanese actor and singer. He is best known for leading roles in several Burmese films and acting in over 200 films.

10. Never Attended a Training Class for Acting

It is interesting to know that Toe never attended any formal training course to study for acting. He educated himself on what would be needed to become a good actor.

It is surprising for him to be amongst the best actors and receive several awards despite being a self-taught actor. This becomes one of the best facts about him.
