The Maha Bandula Park or also known as Maha Bandoola Garden is a public park. This park provides lovely views of the surrounding heritage buildings.

The park was renamed to honor General Thado Mahabandoola after independence a Burmese hero who conquered Assam and died in action.

It was laid out by the British in 1869, the park was called Fytche square after Sir Albert Fytche chief commissioner at the time.

After the British reign, it was renamed Victoria Park to commemorate the queen whose statue used to stand where the monument is.

The park was renamed to praise General Thado Mahabandoola a Burmese hero who fought in the First Anglo-Burmese War, this was done after independence.

The statue of Queen Victoria that was there was taken back to England and replaced with the Myanmar Independence monument after independence.
