As the fashion capital of Italy, many people consider Milan to be a high-end luxurious destination, but the city also has plenty of cool and pocket-friendly hostels for those traveling on a lower budget.

This attractive hostel offers the best location in Milan one could wish for. Tucked away on a quiet side of the city’s main shopping streets and only a 10-minute walk from Milan Cathedral, it is a dream spot for solo travelers.

The interiors are cool and funky, exuding a fun laid-back vibe, with colorful mismatched furniture, wacky black-and-white murals, and eclectic curios from vintage typewriters to vintage wooden cinema chairs.

Their friendly staffs on call on a 24-hour basis have good insight into activities and events around the city. They offer valuable tips that give you a unique glimpse into life in the city, including trips to markets, food tastings, exhibitions, gallery openings, and the city’s nightlife.

8. Ostello Bello Grande

Ostello Bello Grande is one the largest and most popular hostels in Milan, it is a six-story building and can accommodate up to 200 guests. Located only 50 meters from Milan’s central station, the hostel offers a great environment and excellent services.

The hostels consist of single rooms, double rooms, and dorms for four, five, or six people. All rooms and dorms are en suite, and guests get linens, towels, and toiletries free of charge.

One thing that sets Ostello Bello Grande apart from other hostels, is the availability of free food. Every evening a free buffet is served, including hot pasta and a variety of fresh salads and vegetables. There is also a common kitchen that is stocked with pasta, sauces, and other Italian products.

Ostello Bello Grande Room and dorm rates are relatively higher compared to other neighboring hostels, but extras and free food make Ostello Bello Grande a real deal.

9.  The Queens Hostel
