1. Thalia’s acting career started when she was 4 years old

Her acting career started even before she could walk or speak. When she turned one, ThalÃa appeared in her first TV commercial in Mexico.
At the age of four, Thalia was enrolled on ballet and piano classes at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música in Mexico City.
She later joined Franco-Mexican Liceo where she learnt how to write and speak the French language.
Thalia had her first debut in 1976 when Guerra de Los pasteles was released.
Since she was a talented musician, she joined the Din Din group. It was here that she participated in the very famous Mexican festival named Juguemos a Cantar.
2. Thalia used music as an escape after her father’s death
When Thalia turned 6 years old, her worst nightmare happened, her father died. He was diabetic and this was made worse by other illnesses.
Thalia found it difficult to get over her father since she was very close to him. This life event traumatized her for several years that it affected her mental health.
She once admitted in an interview that she lost her voice for a whole year. The doctor’s report also revealed that Thalia suffered from childhood disintegrative disorder.
After several years of therapy, she admitted that she had been bullied after her father’s death.
3. Thalia’s music career started when she was 9

ThalÃa started her music career in 1981 when she was 9. She was part of a children’s music group named Pac Man.
Through this group, they were part of the talent show Let’s Play While Singing. Their band was later renamed Din Din.
She was the star of the group and they were invited to perform at several parties and social events. This group also went for several tours across Mexico.
Their album did not do well and the group was later disbanded. The group members went on solo careers.
Thalia pursued her musical dream and took part in several festivals in the country. Her fans nick-named her a modern rock girl.
4. Thalia’s mother heavily influenced her into pursuing the arts
As the youngest of five children in the family, Thalia was greatly influenced by her mother to pursue art. Her mother was her manager for the longest time and motivated her.
This was an advantage to her because her parents knew several people in the entertainment industry.

She was known as the Queen of Telenovela. This made her one of the most successful actresses in Mexico and one of the highest-paid actresses.
Another glamorous title this Mexican Queen earned was one of the 50 most beautiful people in Espanol. This title was hers 7 consecutive times.

6. Thalia had Lyme disease
In 2008, ThalÃa suffered from Lyme disease which is transmitted by ticks. This led her to be bedridden for some time.
Thalia was unable to perform most of her activities such as promoting her album, Lunada. She said that the disease and it immobilizing her gave her a totally different perspective of life.
The illness not only kept her in bed but also gave her unbearable pain all over her body, she would sweat profusely, and she also started losing her hair.
Another unfortunate event in Thalia’s life was that she suffered multiple miscarriages leading to depression. She rose above it.

Thalia is a philanthropist who has been part of several humanitarian campaigns.
She has served as the official celebrity ambassador and volunteer of March of Dimes. This non-profit organization focuses on improving the health of mothers and babies.
