Anah Giovanna Puente Portilla de Velasco was born on May 14th 1983. She is a Mexican actress and singer who goes by the moniker Anah. She began her acting career in 1986 when she was cast in Chiquilladas.
Her first prominent role was in Pedro Damián’s production, Primer Amor, A Mil por Hora, after working on several popular Televisa telenovelas, including Alondra (1995), Vivo por Elena (1998), El Diario de Daniela (1998), and Mujeres Engaadas (1999).
She joined the cast of Clase 406 in 2003. Anah achieved international success in 2004 after starring in Rebelde and being a member of the Latin Grammy Award-winning group RBD, which sold over 15 million records worldwide. Dos Hogares, her most recent telenovela, premiered in 2011.
1. Anahì released her debut self-titled studio album at the age of ten
Anah released her debut self-titled studio album in 1993, when she was ten years old. She dropped her second album, Hoy Es Maana?, in 1996, which included the singles “Corazón de Bombón,” “Por Volverte a Ver,” and “Descontrolándote.”
She went on to release two more albums, Anclado en Mi Corazón (1997) and Baby Blue (1998). Anah released her fifth album, Mi Delirio, in 2009, and it sold 500,000 copies worldwide.
The album debuted at number two on Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart and at number four on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart, and it was certified Gold in Brazil. Her first international tour was the Mi Delirio World Tour. Mi Delirio World Tour was the seventh most profitable tour in 2010, according to Billboard.
2. Anahì appeared in a sitcom on Televisa

La familia was broadcasted on Televisa and starred the members of RBD. The show was based on the fictional lives of RBD members. The characters in the sitcom were based on the actors’ real personalities. The first Mexican show shot entirely in HDTV was RBD: La Familia. The show aired 13 episodes from 14 March 2007 to 13 June 2007.
Anahì was chosen to play the lead role in Dos Hogares, a telenovela written and produced by Emilio Larrosa, in February 2011, four years after her last appearance in a TV series. After lengthy negotiations, Anahì accepted the role. Filming began on April 25, 2011, and ended on April 14, 2012.
3. She released a nail polish line in 2013

Anahì released a nail polish line titled “BE by Anahì” on July 16, 2013. The line is a collection of 25 different colors, with names relating to her music such as “rebelde,” “delirio,” “absurda,” “click,” “hipnótico,” and “Sálvame”
4. Anahì hired Mexico’s First Lady Designer to create her wedding gown

The wedding gown was created by Mexican designer Benito Santos, who has previously worked with Mexico’s First Lady Angelica Rivera. AnahÃ’s wedding gown featured white flowers hand-embroidered by women from Chiapas.
5. Her bank accounts were frozen back in 2006

Anahì was being investigated for tax fraud, the Mexican tax administration froze four of her bank accounts in 2006. Anahì was granted her accounts back, two with Banamex and two with Scotiabank, after taking the matter to court in 2008.
6. Anahà met her husband through a common friend
Anahà and Velasco met through a mutual friend in 2011. She was at a political event when she met Velasco, who was running for governor of Chiapas at the time. The couple was photographed taking a romantic stroll in New York in August 2012. The romance was then confirmed by Anahà posting adorable photos of them kissing. Her Instagram has since been filled with hearts and romantic messages for her husband.
7. Anahà is bilingual
Being bilingual helped AnahÃ’s huge success in the music industry. She’s one of the most followed Latin artists on social media, and the Mexican press dubbed her the “Queen of Twitter” because she was the first Mexican to reach a million followers.
She sings in languages other than Spanish, such as English, Portuguese, and Italian. Not only that, but she was a member of the popular RBD, which sold over 15 million albums worldwide and won seven Billboard Latin Music Awards.
8. Anahì struggled with anorexia

Anahì battled with anorexia during the filming of Primer Amor. She weighed approximately 75 pounds (34 kg) at her lowest weight. She spent time in five different treatment facilities and saw doctors and psychologists from all over the country.
Anahì began to feel faint one day after returning from a family vacation and was rushed to the hospital, where her heart stopped for eight seconds. Not only that, but she has since recovered and has become a vocal advocate for eating disorders in Mexico. Anahì launched a campaign against anorexia and bulimia in 2008, with the help of Televisa.
On March 11, 2011, doctors discovered that Anahì’s brain wasn’t receiving a significant amount of oxygen due to a deviated septum. This was found to be the root cause of several ailments that had plagued Anahì, including a heart attack.
On September 18, 2011, National Geographic aired the original production of “Obsession: Bodies That Scream,” which was shot in Latin America and featured the testimonies of people suffering from body dysmorphia and eating disorders. Anahì discussed her five-year battle with anorexia and her subsequent recovery.
9. Anahì was appointed as Snickers’ Latin America spokeswoman in 2011
The advertising campaign that was launched sparked controversy, with the National Council to Prevent Discrimination and the National Institute of Women deeming the commercial sexist and filing complaints. Anahì defended the campaign, saying it was not intended to offend anyone.
The company behind Snickers, Effem Mexico, disagreed with the sexism allegations. However, before the advertisement aired, they polled women to gauge their reactions to the content. According to Effem, the majority of women polled did not consider the advertisement to be discriminatory.
10. Anahì was named ”50 most beautiful” by People en Espanol

Based on their characters in Rebelde, a Barbie doll version of Anah, Dulce Maria, and Maite Perroni was released in 2007. In 2010, People en Espaol named her one of the “50 Most Beautiful.”
