1. Mendoza Actual Name is Nicomaine Del Capili Mendoza
Mendoza was born on March 3,1995 in Santa Maria, Bulacan, Philippines to Mary Ann and Teodora Mendoza. She was named Nicomanie Del Capili Mendoza at time of her birth.
Her mother is an accountant who owes several gasoline stations in Bulacan, while the father is an engineer who ventures into the road construction business.
She has two brothers and two sisters. All the names of her sibling also start with Nico.
2. Mendoza is a Graduate
Mendoza completed her high school at St. Paul College of Bocaue in Bulacan. She then joined De La Salle College of St. Benilde to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Institution Management, majoring in Culinary Arts.
After graduation, she had her internship at the Sagamore in Bolton landing, New York.
3. She is a Recording Artist
Mendoza wrote and interpreted Imagine You and Me, the theme song for the 2016 movie Image You and ME.
Vic Sotto made the music for the song with arrangements by Jimmy Antiporda. A duet version of the song was also released for the film.
In June 2018, Mendoza signed a record deal with Universal Records. Neocolours lead vocalist Ito Rapadas is the overall producer of Mendoza’s first album.
4. Mendoza is a Writer
She has maintained a personal blog, the Pessimistic Optimist Bella, since 2012. In April 2017, she revealed she was planning to release a book in the latter part of 2017, with her blog being the inspiration for writing the book.
She added that her book would focus on her personal life with no ghostwriters because she will personally write the book herself.
Mendoza’s first autographical book, Yup, I Am That Girl, was published by Summit Media in October 2017. It was launched on October 26, 2017.
The book’s title is based on her Twitter account’s bio and, according to its short description, an unfiltered version of her blog.
After the book was launched, the #YUPIAMTHATGIRL trended on Twitter and book authors Lang Lear and Michael Faudet reacted positively to Mendoza’s book.
Mendoza’s book was sold out in just four hours after a bookstore announced its availability.
5. She Became Famous for her Dubsmash Video
In early 2015, she posted a Dubsmash compilation on Facebook that impersonated Kris Aquino, which went viral with one million views overnight.
She continued posting more Dubsmash videos, which made her an internet sensation. Mendoza’s facial expression gave her entry fame as the Country’s Dubsmash Queen.
6. Mendoza was Discovered by Eat Bulaga
Eat Bulaga is a Philippine television variety show broadcast by GMA Networks. The manager of Eat Bulaga left a comment on Mendoza’s Instagram comment asking her to audition.
In 2015, she debuted on the show as Yaya Dub, the personal assistant and grandmother of Lola Nidora, a character played by Wally Bayola in the segment Problem Solving.
She was raised to fame due to the unscripted forming of the AlDub love team in Eat Bulaga on July 16, 2013, where she was paired with Alden Richards. AlDub is a portmanteau of Richards’ first name and Mendoza’s character in Kalyeserye.
AlDub phenomenon made Mendoza beneficiaries become the Philippines’ most googled Female Personality and her Twitter account became the third fastest growing profile in 2015.
She also landed the most Tweeted Filipino celebrity in the world in 2017. Mendoza and Alden had won multiple awards for the success of Kalyeserye and their love team.
7. Mendoza has Been Featured in Various Film Throughout her Acting Career
In November 2015, Mendoza joined the cast of Princess in the Palace AS Chef Elize, her first appearance in an actual teleserye.
She appeared as a guest star in the television sitcom Vampire Ang Daddy Ko and the Sunday noontime variety show Sunday Pinasaya.
Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards starred in a 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry entitled My Bebe Love #KiligPaMora together Vic Sotto and Ai-Aide La Alas.
In the film, Mendoza plays Anna Carillo, the stubborn and rebellious child of Vic Sotto’s character. The MMFF awarded her the Best Supporting Actress Award for her role.
Mendoza and Richards also top-billed the romantic comedy film Imagine You and Me, with some scenes shot in Come, Italy.

Mendoza appeared as the cover girl for Med Magazine and Previous Magazine in November 2015. Mendoza and the cast of the Kalyeserye segment featured on YES! Magazine’s November 2015 Issue.
In recognition of Mendoza’s effectiveness as a product endorser, she became the Trinitian Awardee for Most Valuable Female Advertising Endorser during the platinum Stallion Award in 2016.
Mendoza landed in the 21st rank of For Him Magazine (FHM) Philippines’ 100 Sexiest Woman for 2016 as a new entry, while in July 2017, she climbed a few notches higher and ranked as the 9th Sexiest Woman.

Mendoza got a star at the Philippine Walk of Fame at Eastwood City, Libis, Quezon City, along with her Kalyeserye co-stars in December 2015.
Mendoza won several awards for her successful career; she won Female TV Star of the Year and Female Breakthrough Star of the Year for 2016 in the PEPlist Award Year 3 by the Philippines Entertainment Portal.
10. Mendoza has Fast Food Business

Mendoza ventured into the fast-food business after she bought a franchise of the American restaurant chain McDonald’s franchise, which she also endorses.
The restaurant she bought was formally opened on August 11, 2017, in her hometown, Barangay Sta. Clara, Santa Maria, Bulacan.
The location of her fast food is said to be near the gasoline station business of her family.
