Daku Island is located in Siargao, Surigao Del Norte Province in Philippines. It covers an area of one hundred and thirty-six hectares.

The area is accessed using about fifteen minutes from Luna which is the central hub for Siargao surfing and accommodation for visitors.

It is one of the three main islands in Surigao Del Norte Province. The three islands that make up the standard island-hopping tour include Daku, Naked, and Guyam.

Daku is the largest of the islands which leads to its naming. According to the inhabitants, the island’s name was derived from the Visayan name for ‘Big’.

The island is extremely warm with an average temperature of around 28 degrees with no significant changes throughout the year.

Daku has a few structures constructed. The buildings however are few to preserve as much natural environment as possible.

It is also possible to kayak from Siargao to Daku Island which can take about an hour depending on the skill level.
