These are the most magnificent structures that are located in Bantayan town which were established by Augustinians in 1580. After the construction, Saint Peter became the patron saint.

The church was later burned in 1600 by the Moro. The church was repaired in the same year but the current structure was constructed in 1839 and completed in 1863.

The churches have a historical significance since it was hiding place during calamities and wars.
