Mines View Park is one of the mesmerizing features of tourist attractions in the Philippines. It is located approximately five kilometers from downtown Baguio, in Benguet, Philippines.

The Mines View Park is open from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm. The entrance fee to the park is free for the visitors however some fun activities inside the park cost a small fee.

The city got its name from the mountain range where copper, gold, and silver were once quarried. This was the mining area for the local diggers before it was later discovered by the Americans.

During the 1970s the park had only one attraction site which is the money thrown by tourists and children catching coins at the bottom of the observation deck.

The park overlooks the Benguet corporations’ abandoned mines of gold and copper.

The mines view park dates back to American times. It remained undiscovered until when the Gold, Silver, and Copper were found by the Americans.

However, the locals were involved in the mining way before it was discovered by the rest of the world.

In the early seventies, children waited below the viewing deck for visitors to throw coins and collect them. On one side of the cliff, a Memoriam is erected to commemorate those children.

However, many of the children lost their lives on the cliff and the practice was banned by the city government.

The discovery of precious minerals in the park opened it to the globe at large.

The observation deck is located below a wind stone-covered stairway which is close to the parking area. The deck offers a stunning glimpse of the Amburayan Valley.

Some of these activities include horse riding where participants rent the full Cordillera clothing. The girls are dressed in tapis, headdresses, and vests. Boys are dressed in headdresses, a bahag, a shield, and a spear.

The full attire of the clothing and a cowboy hat provides an experience of an Igorot. The Igorot were the ethnic groups in the Philippines who kept their traditional religions and way of life.

The park is a host of several souvenir shops with different products from the natives. Some of the products include the weaving products from Sagada, wood carvings, and many silver shops.

The shops also offer various souvenir T-shirts, handcrafts, and rented indigenous costumes. They offer an amazing shopping experience with a variety of products from the traditional to the modern.
