Bella Poarch was born on February 9, 1997, in the Philippines. She is a Filipino-American singer and social media personality.

Social media has changed over the past ten years from being seen as a tool to just stay in touch with people to a chance to become famous.

On August 17, 2020, she created the most liked video on TikTok, in which she lip syncs to the song “Soph Aspin Send” by British rapper Millie B which gave her a huge following.

In May 2021, she released her first song  “Build a Bitch”.Bella was the third most followed user on TikTok as of July 24, 2022, behind Khaby Lame and Charli D’Amelio, with over 90.8 million followers.

1. She was heavily abused throughout her childhood

Bella was raised in slums by her grandmother and then got adopted by a white American who had served in the US military her adoptive mother is Filipino.

She recounts that she and her adopted brother suffered severe maltreatment from the time she was a youngster until she enlisted in the military.

Her adoptive parents, two elder adopted sisters, her brother, and she all resided on a farm.

Even as a young child of seven years old, she was responsible for many aspects of the farm. She relates how her adoptive sisters weren’t treated equally to her.

 Poarch says that her father was verbally and physically abusive, while her mother did not get involved.

2. She served in the US navy

Bella spent three years in the American Navy having been stationed in Japan and Hawaii before she became a great social media celebrity.

Her popularity reportedly reached its height in December 2020 when 100 Thieves and FaZe Clan, two major professional Esports organizations, reportedly expressed interest in hiring her as content creator for their respective brands.

6. She has collaborated on TikTok videos with famous people

Bella Poarch and rapper Tyga worked together on a few TikTok videos in September.

The duo was seen lip-syncing to some of Tyga’s hits in the videos, which looked to be shot at his mansion. She and James Charles have also collaborated on TikTok together.

In November, Bella teased that she had “something cute coming soon” whilst dancing on TikTok with James. She has also been seen with Justin Beiber vibing to his music “I’m so Lonely”.

7. Bella Poarch is a talented singer

She shared a snippet of her debut single Build-A-Bitch on Instagram on April 30, 2021, and released the music video on May 14 featuring Valkyrie, Mia Khalifa, Bretman Rock, and ZHC.

 Billboard referred to the accompanying music video as “an ambitious, darkly funny slice of new-school pop.”

It was produced alongside Daniel Virgil Maisonneuve, the producer-songwriter better known as Sub Urban. 

She also has ukulele playing skills. Speaking on Instagram Bella said that singing has always helped her get over anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

8. She had an offensive tatoo

Bella received a lot of backlashes after it was discovered that she acquired a tattoo of a Japanese rising sun in September 2020. 

In Korean culture, this symbol is considered to be exceedingly disrespectful. The Rising Sun is deemed offensive by many Koreans who see it as a symbol of Japanese militarism and colonial rule.

Bella expressed regret on Twitter, saying, at the time she was unaware of the history. But as soon as she learned, she promptly covered it and arranged its removal.

Bella shared her experience with sexual assault in her Inferno music video. She issued a Trigger warning on Youtube as a victim of sexual assault in the song video.

In the video, Bella is carried to an elevator while being spiked, but once there, she acquires powers and fights back.

This was how she decided to express herself by creating a video based on how she wished her experience went in the real world.

Since there have been more hate crimes against the Asian-American community, Bella openly declared her support for the battle against anti-Asian racism.

She posted a video to TikTok on March 19, 2021, to discuss the subject and spread the word.

She also spoke with Vogue about her experience as an Asian adolescent who had immigrated to the United States from the Philippines.

She had experienced different treatment and had been randomly attacked and abused.

Today, Bella Poarch is  25 years of age and living in Los Angeles, US where she continues her career in music.
