Have you ever heard of a music festival that takes place every Sunday? It sounds like the greatest weekend ritual one could have, and that’s exactly what Brunch -In The Park is. Though it seems like a place where you come for a picnic in the sunlight, it’s actually not much of a traditional brunch at all.

Brunch -In The Park is a music festival hosted every Sunday throughout the spring. Here, Spaniards and foreigners unite to form a massive crowd and enjoy the music. And they all have one thing in common; an affinity for techno.

DJs from around the world come to play.

The best of international DJs come together to form the Brunch -In The Park lineup and share their version of house / techno music. Artists like The Black Madonna and Bois Brerjcha have graced the stage.

Chile, Palestine, and the United Kingdom are a few of the pins that scatter the map of the places these artists call home. Many of them were born elsewhere but now live in Spain. Others travel from places like Germany to join the exciting show.

There’s more to it than the music.

Behind the crowd are many stations with everything from hydration to entertainment. At the booths, you can find scrumptious treats like sangria, popsicles, and snacks. They even have photo booths.

It appears that the founders of Brunch -In The Park have thought carefully about every detail. Not only do they have options for when you need to leave the crowd for some fuel, they’ve even arranged for guests to have the option to choose from everything from juicy burgers to vegetarian plates.

Countless artists play at the events.

There are around 25 DJs for a given season, which goes on from May to October. Tickets usually cost around 20 euros and can be purchased on the Brunch -In Madrid website or on Resident Advisor.

Madrid is one of four cities to host the event. This amazing festival actually stretches beyond Madrid and even beyond Spain. “Brunch” also takes place in Barcelona, Lisbon, and Fuengirola.

is located in the south.

Situated on the southern tip of Madrid’s central city, the Park of Enrique Tierno Galván always hosts the event, unless there is a change of location. Fabrik, the event’s alternate venue, is situated in Humanes de Madrid, which is a 30-minute drive southwest from the city center, but easily accessible by buses arranged by the club.

Once you arrive, the trip will be worth it, considering that Fabrik is a huge club with several stages. For more information on this substitute venue, refer to the article, Where To Find Techno in Madrid.

Public transportation is said to be the most efficient way to commute to the event, since the park can be accessed both by metro and by bus. Though if you’re close to Atocha, the walk is only 20 minutes from there.

The closest metro stop is Menendez Alvaro Estación Sur which can be reached via line 6. When traveling by bus, you can take line 102 from the station, Av, Cdad. Barcelona -Int. Atocha.

The brains behind this program are ethically conscious.

You know that an event is serious about its ethics when its slogan is happiness and compromise. With a promise to adhere to equality, sustainability and community, it seems like the founders of Brunch -In are committed to more than just music.

BITP actually collaborates with exterior groups to fight for  gender and sexual equality, environmental care, and even feeding the hungry through their very own foundation.

This same conscious mindset is why the servers at the booths will hand you a reusable cup whether you order a sangria or a beer. Impressively, eradicating single-use cups is only one of the sustainable steps that Brunch implements in their  events.

Brunch is notorious for its sangria.

When I think of Brunch -In The Park, I think of good music, good weather, good vibes, and good sangria. Wait, what was that last one? Yes, this techno festival is famous for its delicious sangria.

At most festivals, people queue for water and beer. Here, they queue for the sangria. It’s the perfect drink for enjoying the Sunday breeze and it will have you coming back for seconds and thirds. And of course, the eco-festival serves the sangria in reusable cups, so you can take a souvenir home with you.

Brunch -In The Park is for kids too.

As if considerations from vegetarian food to ecological impact aren’t impressive enough, the developers even conceptualized Brunch as a safe space for kids. For all the parents who can never seem to find the time to go out and enjoy some music, look no further.

This techno festival doesn’t even require a babysitter. Simply bring your kids with you and hang out with them in the Petit Brunch area, where kids enter for free and adults pay a two euro entrance fee.

Just two euros to be able to ditch your Sunday babysitter? That’s a no-brainer. Plus, Sunday is a great day for spending time with family, so why leave your kids at home? Before long, they’ll want to be DJs themselves.

Brunch -In The Park will become your Sunday ritual.

Every Sunday is a good time for brunch. With cheap tickets and an amazing vibe, you won’t be able to resist attending Brunch -In The Park on Sundays. Share this article with your friends to round up a Sunday Brunch group and make a habit of it. What better way to forget your Monday obligations?
