King Charles III was born on November 14, 1948, in Buckingham Palace, London, England, United Kingdom. It is the King of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms. He became the King on September 8, 2022, after the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II.

In the history of British Charles was the longest-serving heir apparent and the oldest person to succeed to the British Throne.

King Charles III broke the record after going to school, unlike other heirs to the throne who attend homeschooling. He went up to the university level and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Cambridge.

In the year 1981, after he had completed his studies he married Lady Diana and they were blessed with two sons Williams and Harry. However, they later divorced and King Charles III remarried Camilla Parker Bowles.

1. He is a Qualified Pilot and Diver

When King Charles III was Serving in the military he trained as a jet and helicopter pilot and became an accomplished diver.

 He is one of the qualified armed forces pilots and he can fly a Harrier T MK.4V/STOL fighter, a BAC Jet Provost jet pilot trainer, a Chipmunk basic pilot trainer, a Nimrod maritime patrol aircraft, Spitfire classic WWII fighter, a F-4 Phantom II fighter jet, and an Avro Vulcan jet bomber among others.

2. The King Founded Charities

Before becoming a King, Charles was assigned as a prince of Wales on July 26, 1958, but the ceremony to formally present the title of the Prince of Wales was held later on July 1, 1969. His late mother Elizabeth II crowned him in a televised ceremony held at Caernarfon Castle.

As a Prince of Wales, he started to perform his duties publically and took official duties on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II and founded the youth charity known as ‘The Prince’s Trust’ in 1976 to help vulnerable young people get their lives on track and sponsors the Prince’s Charities.

He has founded about 17 charities and he is the president of all the charities, a figurehead and a public face. The main aim of prince’s Charities is to improve the overall effectiveness of the group, building on share strengths to ensure there is long-term success and sustainability.

He not only attended the school but broke records by going up to university after his A-levels inside of joining the Royal Armed Forces as it was the norm of the royal tradition. He attended the University of Cambridge to study Bachelor of Arts degree hence becoming the first heir to the throne to get a university degree.

5. He Built a Poundbury Town

King Charles iii has an interest in urban planning and development and once he built a town which is known as Poundbury. The town is located in Dorchester in England.

The King had the aim of developing the town and he wanted the town to be a blend of traditional architecture and modern urban planning and develop something unique by representing both traditional and modern styles.

6. First Heir to the Throne to Get a Divorce

According to British history, Charles was the first heir to the throne to be divorced. Charles married Lady Diana Spencer in 1981 and they were blessed with two sons known as William and Harry.

The couple later divorced after each of them had engaged in well-publicized extramarital affairs. The couple divorced back in 1996, and in 2005 Charles remarried a lady called Camilla Parker Bowles.

It is interesting to know that King Charles iii is a qualified painter and he does a good job when it comes to painting. His interest in visual art started at a young age.

The King learned to paint under the influence of Robert Waddell, a teacher at the Scottish boarding school Gordonstoun. Later on, he was taught how to paint by British artists Edward Seago and John Napper and had access to artworks among the family’s Royal Collection Trust which helped him in learning as well.

He is one of the UK’s best artists and it is estimated that he has earned about USD 3 million from the sales of his artwork since 1997.

8. He Loves Farming and Gardening

Charles loves farming and it is one of activity he has involved himself in for so long. The King has been participating in organic farming for over 40 years at his Home farm near his Highgrove residence in Gloucestershire.

The reason for the king participating in organic farming is because he thought there was an overuse of antibiotics although at first many people never supported his idea of organic farming.

The interesting part about him being a farmer is that he has a Company known as Duchy Originals, which distributes food and goods produced ethically and it teaches the importance of organic farming.

However, in 2020, it was made public that Charles would not be renewing the lease since he was preparing for greater royal responsibilities. Today he practices organic farming at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

9. He is the Third Monarch of England to Be known as King Charles

The name ‘King Charles’ has been in the Monarch of England two times King Charles III being the third. King Charles I, succeeded his father James I in 1625 as the King of England and Scotland.

King Charles II, from 1660, was the King of Great Britain and Ireland until when he died in 1685. Then King Charles III succeeded his mother Queen Elizabeth on September 8, 2022, after the death of her mother.

10. He is the Oldest Person to Accede to the British Throne
