10 Fun Facts about Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex
Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex was born on September 15, 1984, in St Mary’s Hospital, London, England, United Kingdom and he is a member of the British royal family. He is the youngest kid of King Charles III and his first wife Diana, Princess of Wales.
He went to several institutions to pursue different careers. Some of the institutions he studied in include Eton College, Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and Defence Helicopter Flying School.
In 2014 Harry launched the Invictus Games and he remained to be the patron of its foundation. Invictus Games is an international multi-sport event first held in 2014, specifically for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans.

1. He Launched the Invictus Games
Prince Harry the son of King Charles III launched the Invictus Games in the year 2014 and he has remained the patron of the foundation.
Invictus Games is an international multi-sport event for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women, both serving and veterans. This is one of the good did he has done considering the injured and making them fill worthy and valued.
He has as well given patronage to other organizations such as HALO Trust and Walking With The Wounded with the aim to encourage people to open up about their mental health issues.
2. He Started Accompanying his Parents on Official Visits At Early Age.
Harry’s mother Diana Parker, wanted him together with his brother William to have a broader understanding and experiences of ordinary life that the previous royal children.
She travelled with them to different countries and occasions for better learning that ranged from Walt Disney World and McDonald’s to Aids clinics and homeless shelters. At a young age, she came along with Harry and his brother on official visits. The first Harry’s oversee tour was in 1985, with his parent to Italy.
3. He was Educated at Independent Schools Like his Father and Brother
Harry’s father King Charles III broke the chain of the heir on the throne being given a home-schooling education according to British tradition hence his children went to independent schools.
Harry started his education at London’s Jane Mynors’ nursery school and then the pre-preparatory at Weatherby School. He later joined Ludgrove School in Berkshire.
After he passed his entrance examination he was admitted to Eton College and he completed his Eton education on June 2003, with A-Levels, Achieving a grade B in art and a D in geography.
4. A Top Tier Athlete
It is said that Harry is one of the best people in athletes. He has played competitive polo,( a ball game played on horseback a traditional field sport among the oldest world’s known team sports) and rugby union ( a closed contact team sport that originated at Rugby School during the first half of the 19th century).
After he completed his studies at Eton he took a year off, which he spent it participating England vs Young Australia Polo Test match and working as a jackaroo on a cattle station. This show how he was in love with athletics even in his year off he still participated in Athletics.
5. He Produced a Documentary Film
Harrys after completing his studies decided to take some time for himself and during this time he worked with orphaned children as well as produced a documentary film known as ‘The Forgotten Kingdom’.
The Forgotten Kingdom premiered back on June 18, 2022, on Netflix and is the sixth episode of Spriggan. The film acted as the first season finale and was accepted well by the audience.
6. Harry Learned to Fly Military Helicopters like his Father and Brother
It is fun and interesting to know that Harry joined helicopter Schools like his father and brother. King Charles III father to Harry was an expert and qualified pilot and he can fly several jets such as Chipmunk basic pilot trainer, an Avro Vulcan jet bomber and an F-4 Phantom II fighter jet among others.
It was announced that Harry would follow his brother and father and learn to fly a helicopter back in October 2008. He joined the Defence Helicopter Flying School at RAF Shawbury, where he joined his brother. And in April 2011, 16, Harry was announced to be promoted to captain.
7. Several of his Relationships Failed
Before Harry settled into a relationship with a former American actress, Meghan Markle, he had other relationships which failed.
Chelsy Davy the daughter of Charles Davy, a South Africa-based businessman was the girlfriend of Prince Harry. However, in early 2009, it was reported the pair had separated after being in a relationship for five years.
Princess Eugenie, cousin to Harry introduced him to Cressida Bonas, an actress and model in May 2012. Like the previous relationship, they parted ways and it was reported on 30, April 2014.
8. Harry and his Wife Meghan First Met on a Blind Date
It is fun and interesting how Harry and his beautiful wife Meghan met. The couple met on a blind date which was arranged by a mutual friend back in July 2016 in London.
After some months of dating, they announced their engagement in late 2017, and in the following year, they married on 19 May.
9. He Loves Being a Dad
Even before his wife was expectant of their first child, Archie, prince Harry talked about his wish for children. When talking to ABC News in 2016 he said he can’t wait for the day since it will be fantastic.
He said he loves kids and enjoys everything that they bring to the party since they just say what they think. When his first child was born, Harry could not get enough of him. It is interesting to know Harry loves children hence meaning he is a great dad to his little Angels.
10. He Secretly Wed Meghan Markle Days Before their Televised Ceremony
During Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey on March 2011, she revealed that she and Prince Harry were actually married before the official ceremony at Windsor Castle.
Three days before their actual wedding the couple privately exchanged vows in their garden. They were married by Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welsby.
