Aigburth is a suburb of Liverpool, England. It is located to the south of the city, it is bordered by Dingle, Garston, Mossley Hill, and Toxteth.
 
It is home to Liverpool Cricket Club where Lancashire County Cricket Club are regular guests. Lying south of Sefton Park, and its restored Victorian palm house, this south Liverpool community stretches out past Otterspool Park and the picturesque namesake promenade lining the banks of the River Mersey.

1. Explore the history of sudley House

Sudley House was built in 1821 by Liverpool corn merchant Nicholas Robinson (1769-1854). He had bought the land it stands on, some 30 acres, for £4,500 in 1809 from the Tarleton family, as part of the sale of their Aigburth estate. The architect of the house was probably a local man, John Whiteside Casson (1767-1842).

 
In 1986, Liverpool County Museums, including Sudley, became the National Museums & Galleries on Merseyside. It’s now known as National Museums Liverpool. Since the 1990s, we have been gradually returning the downstairs rooms to the style in which they were decorated and furnished when the Holts lived in the house.

2. Take an adventure in Sefton park

Sefton Park is a historic 235-acre park in the south of Liverpool. It originally formed part of the much larger Toxteth Park, which was once stocked with deer. While you are at Sefton park one get a chance to visit the Palm House. It is the most
recognizable building at Sefton Park. This Victorian glasshouse is a Grade II*-listed structure.
 
 It houses an array of specimens from 5 continents. These include palms, orchids, hibiscus, bougainvillea and cannas. Today, there are over 200 plants in the Palm House. Some of them are rare and one is extinct in the wild.

Otterspool Promenade is a stunning riverside walk and accompanying area of parkland in South Liverpool. With beautiful views across the River Mersey, the promenade is an ideal place to go for a stroll, walk the dog, cycle or kite flying.
 
 The promenade adjoins the former private parkland estates of Cressington Park, Fulwood Park and Grassendale Park. It is notable for the excellent views it gives of shipping in the Mersey and over the river to the Wirral.
 

4. Stroll down at Lark Lane 

Lark Lane’s famous community center is housed in a former police station and acts as the street’s cultural hub. Hosting everything from jumble sales and fairs to musical events and political talks, visiting Lark Lane Community Centre is a great way to gain an understanding of this tight-knit community.
 
It is also a home to some of Liverpool’s most popular restaurants, Lark Lane has long been at the center of the city’s gastronomic identity. One of the most iconic spots in the area is Keith’s Wine Bar, where a bohemian spirit reigns supreme and the regulars are an eclectic bunch.
 
This reasonably priced joint is famous for its shabby-chic décor, top-notch drinks list, and riffs on classic European dishes.
 

5. Visit and watch a cricket game at Aigburth Cricket Ground

Aigburth Cricket Ground in Liverpool, England, is the home of Liverpool Cricket Club. The club was founded in 1807 and is the oldest amateur sports club in Merseyside. The ground hosted its maiden first-class cricket match in 1881, a fixture between Lancashire and Cambridge University.
 
It was designed by Thomas Harnett Harrison and built in 1880, the pavilion is the oldest remaining at a first-class cricket ground. The first Women’s Cricket World Cup was held in England in 1973.
 
During the tournament Aigburth hosted its only Women’s One Day International, a match between International XI Women and Trinidad and Tobago Women. The West Indies cricket team toured England in 1984 and played a tour match against Lancashire at Aigburth.
