Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah is a former prime minister of Kuwait. He served in that capacity from 2011 to 2019. Additionally, he also served as deputy prime minister and the defence minister before becoming prime minister.
 
His service as deputy prime minister of Kuwait ran from 2006 to 2011. The Kuwaiti royal was detained in April 2021 on corruption charges. The corruption crimes were allegedly committed when he was the defence minister.

Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is the current emir of the state of Kuwait (monarch and head of state) and the commander of the Kuwait Military forces. He succeeded the throne on September 2020 from his half-brother Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah after his death.
 
Before that, he served as the governor of Hawalli, the minister of interior, the minister of defence, and the deputy prime minister. Nawaf was deputy prime minister of Kuwait from 2003 to 2006. 

3. Nawal El Kuwaitia

 
She is a Kuwait singer and actress and is very popular in the Persian Gulf states. Her birth name is Nawal Thaher Al-Zaid. She has been a classic musician since 1983 and has been signed by over four labels.
 
Kuwaitia has filmed many music videos and was one of the first Khaliji musicians to have as many records. She has recorded nineteen albums and nine singles. She is married to Mishaal Al Aroj, and together they have two children. 

4. Jaber Al-Hamad Al-Sabah

 
The sheikh was the former emir of Kuwait who reigned from December 1977 until he died in 2006. At the time of his death, he was 79 years old. He died of a cerebral haemorrhage that he had experienced in 2001, which he succumbed to five years down the line.
 
He was the third monarch since Kuwait gained its independence from Britain. He had before served as the minister of finance from 1962 to 1965 and then as the prime minister of Kuwait from 1965 to 1978. He had at least four wives and seven children. 

5. Amal Al Awadi

 
Awadi is an actress and broadcaster from Kuwait. She first appeared in media at the young age of seventeen when she was presenting a children’s TV programme on Kuwait TV.
 
In 2005, she presented Your Eyes show on TV Kuwait in their Home programme category. She started acting in 2006, and over time she has been featured in television series, films, music videos and television programmes.
 
Her famed works are such as Memories Don’t Fade, Banat Sukkar Nabat (2011), and Abu al Malayeen. She is married to Abdullah Al-Awadhi and they have a daughter, Munira. 

6. Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah

He is a Crown Prince of Kuwait. Furthermore, the son of Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Maryam Marit Al-Huwalia. He has two wives and twelve children. He is the oldest crown prince in the world.
 
Mishal Al-Sabah is the paternal half-brother of the current Emir, Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Mishal served as the head of State Security from 1967 to 1980 and the Deputy Chief of the National Guard.
 
Additionally, he became a crown prince in October 2020. The current emir gave him more duties in 2021 such as naming the prime minister and issuing laws and decrees in preparation for his upcoming roles as the future emir. 

7. Souad Abdullah

 
Souad Abdullah Salem Al-Abdullah is an actress from Kuwait. She is very famous in Iraq and is seen as an Iraqi pop culture icon. She started acting in 1963 when she was only thirteen years old.
 
She is nicknamed the “Cinderella of the Gulf Screen”. She has appeared on dozens of television series such as Al Atawiya, Um Al Banat, and Kan Fi Koli Zamana to mention a few.
 
She is most known for Ala Al-Donia Al-Salam (1987) and Houses in That Alley (1978). She doubles as a musician as well. She is married to Faisal Dahi and they have three children. 

8. Khairy Jamaluddin

Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar or popular as K.J is a Malaysian politician. He has been the Minister of Health beginning mid-2021 in the Barisan Nasional (BN), which is a Malaysian political coalition.
 
On top of that, he has also been the Member of Parliament for Rembau.  In August 2022 he was given the role of caretaker Minister of Health after the 14th parliament was dissolved by crown prince Mishal. He has served in several ministerial roles since 2013. It’s worth noting that Khairy was born in Kuwait, though both his parents are from Malaysia. 

9. Fehaid Al-Deehani

 
He is a target shooter by profession and is from Kuwait. He has won several Olympic medals including a gold medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics. He won this medal as an independent athlete since Kuwait had been banned from the Olympics from 2015 to 2019. So he became the first independent athlete to win a gold medal.
 
Over and above that, he has won two bronze medals for the men’s double tap shooting event in the 2000 Summer Olympics and the 2012 Summer Olympics. He also competed in the Asian Games double trap competition in 2014 and won the silver medal.

Hayat Al-Fahad is an actress, writer, producer and broadcaster from Kuwait.  She is celebrated for her pop culture television shows such as Jarh Al Zaman, Khalti Qumasha, Gany Al Zuhor and Ruqiya wa Sabika.
 
She is one of the pioneers of Gulf drama. She has also made controversial headlines like in 2020 during the corona pandemic. She held the opinion and urged the government to deport foreign nationals who had the virus to avoid overcrowding Kuwait hospitals.
 
Understandably, the most famous people in Kuwait come from the Al-Sabah dynasty, which is the ruling family in Kuwait. The rest of the list is dominated by actresses, musicians and athletes.
