Haya Harareet was an Israeli actress and screenwriter.

She is well established for playing the role of Esther, in Ben Hur’s film, which she played opposite Charlton Heston in 1959.

Harareet was born in the British Mandatory of Palestine, now Israel. She was born on 20 September 1931.

She was the daughter of Reuben and Yocheved Neuberg. Haya is the second born out of three children.

Her parents were Polish immigrants. Her parents migrated to Israel when they were teens.

Her father worked for the government in Tel Aviv.

Her real username name was Harari. However, she changed the name to Harareet which means Mountainous in Hebrew.
